Chapter 5
The next couple of days I took a stroll in the park with William. This time he was more sincere to me. He made want to.. want to.. I can't say what I wanted to do, but main point is I was falling into his trap. I knew his tricks he was trying to minipulate me into liking him so it would be easier for him to rob my family and kick us to the curb. I'm not what he wants. I don't know how I'm going to convince my parents into calling off the wedding. Maybe as soon as we get married and go into to our seperate houses (for religious purposes) I'll run away and marry Nathan in a far away land. Wait.. Nathan. I haven't talked to him since the talk with my mother which was weeks ago. I think he's getting the wrong message. I better go to him tonight. And that's exactly what I did. I knocked on his wooden door. "Oh, it's you. Come in." "Sorry I haven't talked to you in a long time, but-." "I know. You're marrying a man named William Rolf Benjamin on November 6th. If you're going to play that way then leave my presence." I walked out side while tears flowed down my red cheeks. "I don't play games if that's what you thought this was. Don'r come back." He shut the door on my face and I walked away sobbing. I couldn't control the tears flowing out of my eyes because I felt so much hurt on the inside. I dried my tears as I entered my front door where I saw my mother and father tapping their feet.
Chapter 6
"Where were you Joann?" "I was-." "Nevermind that! Here's the point I went into your room to say goodnight and I saw a letter under your bedsheet. It said something like come to Dandy Valley if you want to get married. What was that about? Did you make the letter?" "Yes." I
mumbled as I choked on a bunch of tears. "WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU DO SUCH A THING? ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ALREADY HAVE A GROOM! What are we going to do the wedding is more than halfway planned and the invatations have already been sent out," mom complained as she paced the floor look down. "We have to call William and his folks," Mom headed for the phone. "No!"
