Another peek at my story Powerless (and yes, it is still maliciously short ;))

I wanted to post this part because I think that it is sort of the main theme of the whole story.  It's the catch that makes the character live a life that isn't normal in her abnormal world.  Oh, and it takes place in the real world.  Just the hidden fantasy part of the world :)

My secret is resting on my tongue. I want to tell him everything. But then I have to remember who he is, and what he has said.

If you can’t control anything, you’re useless! Why don’t we just kill off all the mortals?

And I’m forced to hate him once more. Because even if he doesn’t know it yet, he’ll just end up hating me. Because I am no better than a mortal. No better than a human. And this makes me a criminal.
