Broken Heart chapter 15

He was queit... Marzi I mean. While Jeremy and I had intterigated him, he seldom talked. Esspesially if it was a yes or no question. I looked over to Jeremy, who was staring at me though he was still kissing Hanna. Though Hanna didn't know, because her eyes were closed at the time. Suddenly I felt somebody near me. I turned around, relieved to find it was only Marzi. He had been watching me intently since he had seen me and Jeremy... I had a feeling that he had been watching me last night. It was just a huntch but I had a feeling it was pretty true... I smiled slightly as Marzi furrowed his eyebrows together. I wondered but he wanted but didn't ask, for I doubted I would get an answer. I didn't even talk for him to say "You're jelouse of Hanna."
I was too stunned to say anything. We had asked him what he had specilized in, and he had said that he wasn't a Magik user, that he was just a gaurdian, but now I was starting doubt that. He was mysterious. He said again, though it wasn't a question but a statment, "You are jelouse of Hanna."
I wanted to deny it. But for some reason I couldn't... So I instead said "Yeah... I guess I am a little."
He smiled and asked "Only a little?"
I thought about it for a second then said "Well... I guess. I mean I know..." I puased thinking of the right word. "things" I finnally said at last. Marzi looked at me and asked, voice as emotionless as normal "What are these things?"
I hesitated before saying "I can't tell any one. That would mean both Jeremy and I would get in trouble."
Mari scrunched his eyebrows together again and asked "What do you mean you would get in trouble? We're in the middle of nowhere."
I sighed and said "Jeremy is always being watched. It's part of the recomendation of being my gaurdian. But we are able to get moments when we know that no one is watching us."
He raised his eyebrows again and asked "Are you sure that nobody is watching?"
I was starting to grow uncommfortable under his unwavering gaze. I suddenly felt another presense next to me. I looked over and saw Jeremy. He smiled at me though it looked like it was forced. I smiled too, mine was slightly forced. But definitly less then his. Our eyes locked and I saw that Jeremy was mad... at something. Though I didn't know what it was. He suddenly hissed at Marzi "Get away from her and just leave her alone."
Realization sparked in Marzi's eyes and I had a feeling that he knew what was going on between us. And I was scared that he would tell. Jeremy pulled me back into the shadows of the trees. Before I could ask him anything, he mashed his lips against mine. I was so confused. When he pulled away he said "I'm sorry Zoe.... Hanna is just so ignorant and I had to feel someone who wasn't that much."
I thought about it before asking "Why were you so mad?"
He sighed and said "While you were talking to Marzi, Hanna and I started talking... She broke up with me.... And I know it's cause she likes Marzi... Who seems to like you." he sighed again, "It's just so confusing."
I sighed too and nodded. Jeremy kissed me agian very quickly. I smiled and asked "Do you wanna just sit here? And not worry about a single thing?"
Jeremy nodded and we both sat down, not know that we were both thinking about the prochecy. And how we only had one more day to find the oracle.
