Chapter Three
Dear Readers,
I started out my second summer day out on the beach, multitasking. I was tanning, listening to music (Clocks by Coldplay), drinking strawberry lemonade, and I was blogging.
Today is my second day at Summer Waves Summer Camp. I'm having a good time, believe it or not. I miss all my friends that's for sure! I miss my country! I miss you, TaeTae! I miss you, Emma! Now, let me start telling you guys what's happened.
I made a friend, her name is JC Brighte. She is absolutely amazing! I love her already!
I met my other roomie--Madeline DeVour. And trust me, she's a...bitch. I'm sorry for the language, younger readers. But it's TRUE.
The last thing I did. I met...well, actually just saw...was this one boy. (: enough said.
Love,
Rikki_Rawr <3
I've had longer blogs, but today, I was out on a mission. Or you could say I was on lookout. I closed my laptop, and took off my shades looking around for JC. She said she'd meet me here in half an hour!
"Rikki Wilson!" my name was screamed at me only a few feet away. I pivoted to see who it was, and of course, it was the one and only JC.
"JC, you scared me!"
"Well, you scared me too! You're hairs a mess! What the heck is up with that big friz ball?!" she yanked a piece of my super curled natural hair. "It's natural! Goodness..."
"Well, it looks all...poofy!" she stared at me with a blank expression. "Poof. It's like an explosion of blonde curls--"
"Umm, I think it looks...nice." JC was interrupted by the intervention of somebody's comment. We both turned to find a boy with wet dirty blonde hair, a perfect tan, six-pack, and a soccer ball between his right forearm and side. But the feature that really held my stare were his green eyes. It was as if I was lost in jade jungle. One that I couldn't seem to find my way out of. When I snapped back to reality, my legs were hit by the sensation of numbness; butterflies erupted in my stomach, and my cheeks were probably redder than JC's hair.
"Hi, I'm Justin Worthington. And you are?"
"I--I--I'm..." I suddenly remembered what Emma said over IM. No stuttering. "I'm Rikki, Rikki Wilson." I managed.
I noticed his extended hand waiting in between us.
"Nice to meet you. And, no matter what JC says, I think your hair looks nice." he broke our handshake and tucked a strand of curls behind my ear. I slapped his hand away, playfully but serious at the same time. I'm so not going to be a free-be, but part of me knew that those weren't his intentions.
"Uhh, the guys and I a--are playing soccer. Do you and JC want to play? You know...soccer." he smiled shyly and ruffled his hair.
"Umm," I glanced over at JC just to find her smiling like crazy. "Sure."
The game went by fast, and even JC was having a great time! She flirted with half of the players and left me and Justin to flirt alone. I don't think he flirted, but then again, if you consider him hugging you from behind and setting you on the shore to get wet, then sure; we flirted. When he set me down on the shore, he layed down next to me, and for a few minutes we stared at the sky while waves soaked our backs.
Amazing!
"Rikki," JC and I were walking back to our cabin, giggling and whispering about the turn-out of our second summer camp day; but then Justin came up behind me and grabbed my wrist; he pulled me in closer, only to make me smile some more.
"Justin," I said, a little surprised (not really though).
"Today, the campers are all heading out into town. And well, we're going to be able to go eat where ever we want to go. So, I was wondering if you would like to..." he hesitated, and while his silent moment took place, his cheeks turned tomato red. "If...you know..."
I decided to make his day a little easier.
"I like seafood," I whispered, smiling slightly. "Pick me up from my cabin before we leave." I bit my bottom lip and turned away, dragging JC away with me. Justin was still standing there, letting things sink in.
Finally he said, "Uhh, yeah--yeah! Wait, what's you're cabin?"
"C3!" I looked back and grinned, expecting a great evening.
