Erin Lowe- Chapter 2

It’s a few hours later, and I’m in my world history class. Well, actually, I’m waiting for it to start. I’m daydreaming about the soft cozy couch waiting for me at my dormroom when someone sets their books on the seat next to me. I look up and it’s some strange boy that I feel like I’ve met before. “Hey, I’m Eric. What’s your name?” “My name’s Erin.” At that moment, the professor walked in, and the room became quiet. The professor started to teach, and I zoned. My mind wandered, and it happened to land on Eric. I glanced over at him, and something seemed familiar about his profile. I racked my brain for my memories, and then something clicked. I stole a peek at his notebook, and on the front was his name: Eric Louis. I started freaking out. See, when I was about 13, we had family friends named Louis. They had a son named Eric. The last time that I saw them was at some party that we had down at the Lake of the Ozarks. This was bad. Why, you may ask? Because I had a huge crush on him when I was younger, and I no longer felt that way about him. Instead, I thought as I saw him steal glances at me, the roles had been reversed. I sunk down in my seat and tried to pay attention for the rest of the class. As soon as the class ended, I gathered my books and made a rush for the door. I had gotten outside when I heard, “Hey Erin, wait!” I turned and saw that Eric was running up to me. Oh great. “Erin, do you want to go with me to Fall Ball?” I bit my lip. “Um…” I was spared of answering by Luke coming up behind me. “Hey Erin, what’s up?” Eric frowned deeply at him and me. “Oh, you already have a boyfriend? That can easily be changed.” He then stormed off, leaving a mortified Erin and a very confused Luke in the dust.
