Everlasting Love Chapter 1 (Book One - Everlasting Trilogy)

by Kyle
in My daydreams, thinking of Toph kicking Di-Lee agents butts to save me from falling off a cliff. Oh Toph! :D

I sat on the plush seat of my dad’s convertible as we crossed the highway heading to LA. My brother was listening to loud rock music, pretending to be using an electric guitar. I sighed and rolled my eyes. Boys could be so immature. My dad was getting his job moved all the way from Chicago. I was leaving behind everything I had ever had – my home, my few friends, and all my childhood memories. All for some hot, big California city. I just wasn’t like big of a city girl I guess. I mean, I hadn’t ever really lived in Chicago, but more on the outskirts. My dad went into the city everyday, but Drake (my brother) and I never had ever really been inside of it. I was fine with a more small-town girl act.

My mom had died several years ago, before we moved to Chicago. The house had caught on fire and, well, we never saw her again. That was our dad’s main reason for the big move. And now, I guess he was more concerned about his job than how us, his own kids, felt.

“Dad, I’m hungry,” I lied. I just wanted him to talk. He’d been silent the entire drive.

“Well why don’t you eat.” He replied, keeping his eyes on the road.

“We don’t have food in the car dad.” I replied, clearly annoyed. He reached into the passenger seat, lifted a lunch box and dropped it in my lap. I opened it to find cheese and crackers, Gatorade, and a box of raisins. Thanks dad. Very appetizing. I ate some of the crackers, but then just sighed and closed my eyes. When would anybody understand me?

            Would anybody ever understand me?

            Would somebody ever love me?

A/N: Sorry this is so short. And it WILL get more interesting later on. It’ll suck maybe the next two chapters.
