Prologue
It was my latest novel: Terrace. It was my latest and greatest novel yet. I sighed at my computer. It was fifty-five chapters, and three hundred and forty-five pages long. Time to send it to my editor. I pulled up my Gmail account page, and typed a small author’s note, and then copy and pasted it to him. I hit send. It was the third in my Mountain Trilogy. Now that that was over, it was time to start writing a new series. I left the title part blank, and skipped straight to the prologue. I typed furiously, and the prologue soon was ten pages long. I whistled loudly. That was the longest prologue I had ever put to life. I paused, and in thirty more minutes, had made two more ten to twenty page chapters. I could tell already; this would be a long book. I tried making another chapter, but I couldn’t. I tried again, but it still stunk. I couldn’t believe it. I had Writer’s Cancer, or, it was sometimes called Writer’s Block. I had never gotten it before! I guess this wasn’t my luckiest of all stories, I guess. I saved my progress, and then shut my desktop down. I looked at my alarm clock. 8:19. I yawned then crawled up in my covers. The lights outside had dimmed since I had started typing. So I crawled up in my covers and quickly fell asleep…
