+=Fighting for Truth=+ Chapter 1

Life is different for Ellise Wilson, a child about 8 years old where our story starts. She doesn’t see life like we do. We see it as a game or a toy. She saw it as a trial. Like maybe it was.
Friday mid-day, Ellise, or Ellie her nickname, was playing hopscotch alone, as usual. Her thin blond hair got on her face as she jumped block onto block. She stopped for a moment to get the hair out of her face. A small cry was heard from behind her.
“Stop!! Leave me alone and gimme back that braclet!!!” Ellie quickly looked around to see what was going on. You see, Ellie was a curious soul, poking from one place to another. But, at the moment Ellie was about to interfere, her life changed completely. It went in the opposite direction of peace.
“No!! You’re playing in OUR area and this is the price!!!” Martha and her two friends, the bullies of Ellie’s class, said roughly.
“No…!!! Please!!! I’ll give you anything but that bracelet!! Grandma gave me it!!!!” the little girl cried in panic. Ellie quickly moved her slim swift body in the middle of the four girls.
Ellie said coldly, “Stop. Fighting will get you nowhere.”
Martha replied, “I can beat you up! You have some guts, Ellie Smelly.” Ellie straightened up.
“This little girl didn’t know this was your ‘area.’ Let ‘er go. She didn’t mean to.”
Martha and the rest of the class knew about Ellie’s keen sense to… well, to common sense. Martha hated it. Martha pushed her jaws against each other tightly and made a grim sound that Ellie could hear.
“That’s it!! I hate you!” Martha screamed out in frusteration.
“Why?” Ellie grined, “Because I make sense?” Martha took a step forward and then a step back.
“Since I don’t feel like beating you up, I’ll let my friends do it. Right?” Martha turned to her friends. They didn’t say anything but did nod with a huge smile, smug on their face with a hint of devilish spark. Ellie took a step back. But then ran full speed ahead at Martha, grabbed the bracelet from her hand, and ran 3 feet away before Martha and her friends could react. The little girl ran away too while this was being done to tell the teachers. Ellie was unfortunate though. She was a fast runner but not a fighter. Martha and her gang cornered Ellie and broke her arm right when the teacher came.
“What in the worlds is going on here Martha?!” The teacher said outraged.
“M-m-Miss Richards!!!” Martha gasped. Ellie clutched on to her arm and hot boiling tears fell from her eyes, slowly but surely. Miss Richards yelled at Martha and her friends, “What have you done?! Oh, what the principle will do you with three…!”
Martha, Chelsea, and Tema looked at the floor with shame. “M-miss Richard-s-s…” Ellise managed to say, “Don’t expel them.” This shocked Ms. Richards.
“Why? This is a serious injury. Go to the docter with Penny.” The little girl, brown hair and grey eyes, looked up at Ellise.
“Elli—“ Penny froze. Elle looked at her with questioning eyes. Penny whispered to Elle, “Yo-your eyes….!!!” Elle’s eyes were dark violet and were previously dark blue. Penny didn’t say anymore and Elle patted Penny on the head.
“Truth comes first, right?”
As Penny and Elle walked toward the nurse’s office, Penny wondered about what Elle said. “Truth comes first…..?” Penny thought curiously. As a 5 year old, she didn’t know the meaning of truth but knew what it was. But she didn’t know exactly what was truth. Penny thought about this even at the waiting room at the docter’s office. During Penny’s wondering hour, Elle was in Mr.Ron’s office, being examined for any other injuries from the fight.
Truthfully, Mr.Ron was a nurse, but all the kids called Mr. Ron a doctor, just because it sounded better for a guy.
During the examination, Elle asked Mr. Ron, “Where’s Chelsea, Tema, and Martha?”
Mr. Ron replied, “At the principle’s office, where they will probably be expelled.” Elle eye’s widened and she took a short quick intake of breath.
“EXPELLED???”
Mr. Ron laughed, “Of course! After the mess they’ve done? It must be done to teach them something.” Mr. Ron opened his eyes from laughing and Elle was gone. “Ellise?”
Down the hallway, Elle was running as fast as she could to the principle’s office, with Penny running after her.
“Elli-Ellise!!” Penny wheezed, “Wha-What are you do-doing??”
Elle replied loudly, for she was quite a ways away from Penny, “I’m going to tell the principle the truth of what happened!!” Penny stopped running. She stood there. And stood there.
Penny whispered softly to herself, “What is she talking about?”
BAM!!! The loud noise made Mrs. Elisabeth, the principle, wince and the other girls yelled out in fear. There, at the doorway, stood Miss Wilson, panting and trying to catch her breath.
“Don’t… expel them… please!”
Mrs. Elisabeth blinked. “Ellise, what they did was against the rule book of this school, Rocheners Elementry. The consequences must be done unto them.” Ellise gave Mrs. Elisabeth a sharp stare.
“Then the book doesn’t speak the truth!!”
Mrs. Elisabeth rolled her eyes and asked reluctantly, “Then, Miss Wilson, is the truth?”
Elle smiled, “The truth of this matter is that they are humans like everyone else. And like everyone else, they deserve a second chance.”
Mrs. E was surprised greatly by Ellise’s wisdom. Mrs. E couldn’t disagree with Ellie, but asked with curiosity, “Are you saying that they will not be punished?”
Ellie shook her head and Martha and her friends’ hearts plummeted into an abyss. Ellies said, “I think they will be punished. Maybe no playtime at lunch would be a good idea for a week and kids will be able to roam around their ‘area.’”
Mrs. E made a small smile and said, “Very well. Martha. Chelsea . Tema. No playtime at lunch. You may only eat and then go into your class to do extra work for an entire week.”
The three guilty bullies yelled out in protest, “WHAT?!?” Mrs. E ignored their complaints and turned to Ellie.
“You are a very brave girl, Ellise. Everyone will be proud of you.” Ellie smiled weakly and replied, “Truth comes first…”
Ellie collapsed and fainted from the pain of her right broken right arm. It had no cast the entire time.
