Math. Was slow and as boring as ever. I learned just about nothing, not because I wasn’t listening, but because they were just reviewing addition and subtraction. I don’t know why. We were in 8th grade for crying out loud! We should be learning more algebra not the standard 234+234-34= 434. So easy.
Well then the phone rang, which I find quite uncommon in most classrooms.
“Alaska.” The teacher said, “For you and Oregon”
Me and Oregon stood up, and went to the phone.
“Alaska?” my mother asked on the other line.
“Yeah.” I replied.
“Alaska you and Oregon come home right away. We need to speak with you both.”
Click.
She hung up.
I stared at Oregon, “She wants us home. I think she’s speaking for your mom too.”
He nodded.
I wondered what in the world they could possibly want.
I didn’t do anything wrong did I? I asked myself as we walked to the office. Of course not. She wouldn’t call Oregon to. If it’s not that, then what is it?
