An Important Paper Shadows Notice (Plus the Paper Shadows playlist!)

in the City, riding a Paperwing dragon with Levi. Because he's my favorite person ever. EVER.

Hey there!  As you... uh... may have noticed, I haven't posted a chapter of Paper Shadows in a while.  As you also may have noticed, this story makes pretty much zero sense right now.  I've done both of these things to keep you readers in the dark about what the heck Sam and Levi are doing flying around on mechanical dragons.  I just didn't want to let KP readers know stuff that I'm probably going to change a lot.  That, and I wasn't really sure where the story was headed.

BUT WAIT!!!  I had a revelation.  I needed a new character for everything to make sense.  Just one.  A very special one.  In fact, one that will be the most important character, exculding Hannah.  He'll change pretty much the whole story.  I can't tell you much about this character, but I'll give you this much: He is sixteen.  He is an inventor.  And his name is Icarus.

OOOOH!  Mysterious, isn't it?

I hope you enjoy meeting Icarus, as well as spending some more quality time with Hannah, Sam, Levi, Harrison, and all the rest when you read the full, edited, new (and did I mention, VERY different) version of Paper Shadows when I....  publish it with KidPub!  Huzzah!  Yep, I've decided to publish it after all :D

Thanks everyone!

Now, as promised, my Paper Shadows playlist.  This is the collection of songs I listen to over, and over, and OVER again while writing Paper Shadows.  All of these songs have super deep meanings in the sense that my characters would listen to them and connect instantly.  They aren't just random songs I like, and tried to work into my writing.  I'd never listened to a few of these songs more than once or so on the radio before this.  I searched for a while for the perfect songs.  But here's the thing- I didn't google any of the song's actual meanings.  When I listen to these songs, I sorta see my own meaning for them.  Any way, my point is, Hallelujah, for example, isn't William's theme because of anything about religion.  It's more about the tone of the song, and specific lines, like, "Love is not a victory march, it's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah."  Anyway, as much as I want to give you detailed descriptions of why I picked each song, I think they're pretty self explanitory if you've read Paper Shadows.

Hannah's theme: The Cave- Mumford and Sons

Icarus's theme: Blackbird- The Beatles

Levi's theme: Superman- Five for Fighting

Sam's theme: Buildings & Mountains- The Republic Tigers

-This one might not make sense until you read the rewrite.  I've sorta altered Sam's personality a bit.  Don't worry, he's still charming :)

Harrison's theme: Live Like We're Dying- Kris Allen

William Henry Walker's theme: Hallelujah- Rufus Wainwright

The Scientist's (Icarus's father's) theme: The Scientist- Coldplay

-Wow, didn't see that one coming.  That's creativity right there ;)

Hannah's song for- OH!  Crud!  I almost said his name!  Well, I can't tell you who he is just yet: Somewhere Only We Know- Keane

His song for Hannah: From Where You Are-  Lifehouse

Paper Shadows theme: Challengers- The New Pornographers

-Weird band name, yes.  But if you haven't heard of them before, this song is really nice :)

Whooo!  I've been wanting to post that for a while!  Thanks for reading that everyone!
