~Chapter two~

“Aaaagh!!” Cole screamed. Beth just stood there, shaking her head. “I’m Beth. This is my—um—brother—Cole. Sorry about him.  His greatest weakness is small animals appearing out of nowhere.” Beth shouted over Cole’s high-pitched screams. Cole stopped screaming.

“It’s just a Mere cat!” He said wonderingly.

“Yeah, Cole. So magical.” Beth said sarcastically, rolling her storm blue eyes.

“So anyway, what’s your name?” Cole asked the Mere Cat.

“Jubilee.” Replied the Mere cat.

“Nice name,” Beth commented.

“Thanks!” The Jubilee giggled.

“So…is anyone else here besides you?” Beth asked. Cole nodded in agreement. “Like, any Demons?” He joked.

“Actually, the Demons live in the Pirou Mountains.” Jubilee said, pointing to some green mountains to her left.

         “Oh,” Cole said, clearly uneasy.

“So there are others?” Beth repeated.

“Oh yes. Hundreds of others. You’ve come to our biggest city—The Fire Oak!” Jubilee announced.

“Cool! So that’s what that tree is?” Cole asked.

“Yep.” Jubilee replied.

“Tell me where the others are!” Beth instructed angrily.

“They’re hiding!” Jubilee giggled.

“From who?” Cole asked.

You!” Jubilee laughed.

“Can they come out now? We’re obviously not harmful.” Beth scoffed. She was beginning to detest Jubilee and Cole together. Their conversations were going a little off subject.

“Yes, yes.” Jubilee agreed, as flowers transformed into pretty nymphs, bees formed into pixies, and a random rock turned into who knows what.

A girl, around Beth’s age walked towards them. “Hi! I’m Chelsea. I’m a nymph—I live in small streams. Chelsea was a cute nymph with long curly, periwinkle locks, stormy blue eyes, and skin a light periwinkle. Her eyes shone merrily, her small, cute button nose being cute, and her pink lips open, revealing straight, white as a whistle teeth, with a gap in between her two front teeth. She was dressed in a dress coming down to her knees, which was also blue and seemed to be made out of silk. She had no shoes on.

A girl was coming up behind her. She nudged Chelsea out of the way and Beth saw a boy with dark, set eyes, Carmel brown hair that was long, but not long enough to put into a ponytail. He brushed some hair out of his eyes and smiled a cute crooked smile. Beth immediately fell in love.

“Sorry about her. You are probably wondering who we are.” The boy apologized.

“Whoa, it’s OK,” Cole reassured him, even though the boy wasn’t speaking directly to him.

“We are known as the inhabitants of a fantasy land, full of wonders and dangers around every corner. This is our main base, the Fire Oak.” The boy said, gesturing to the Fire Oak. “I’m Mason.” Beth gave a faint giggle.

“N-nice to meet you. I’m Beth.” She whispered, going scarlet in the cheeks.

“Would you like to meet our leader, Queen Sara?” Mason asked. Cole nodded, and Mason led them into an opening inside the Fire Oak.
