Author's Note: Hello, Kidpubbers. I am finally back. The reason for my absence from the world of writing ranges from personal qualms, to school work, and pure Writer's Block. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this small chapter of Letters from Ireland. The reason for its punyness is that it serves as a precursor for the following chapters, which should be up within in minutes of this one. Comment, and above all...
Enjoy.
"I'm shipping up to Bo-ston! Whoa, oh, oh. I'm shipping up to Boston! Who--"
Brian turned down the music as his cell phone began to trill.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Hi, son." Brian immediately recognized my mother's voice.
"Mom! What's up? How are you doing?" He asked, his voice cheerful.
"Fine. I was more worried about you. You know I hate it that you're a detective, right?" She said for the thousandth time.
Brian groaned, and said, for the thousandth time,
"I know, Mom. But I'm changing the world, one scumbag at a time."
"Too bad you weren't around to catch the biggest scumbag in all of Ireland." His mother said, sighing.
Brian knew she was referring to his father.
"Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to come over tonight for some corn beef and cabbage. You know, to celebrate."
Brian grinned at the thought of his mother's cooking.
"Absolutely. I can't wait."
"I love you, Brian." She said.
"Love you too, Mom. Good bye."
Brian hung up.
