Nightmare in the Circus- Chapter 2

Chapter 2

I ducked down low and walked quickly toward the stairwell where the boy and the tiger had gone. I couldn't go down, it was too dangerous with these stilts. But I could see clearly what happened.

The little boy pushed on the door and realized it was locked. He turned around with his back flat against the door looking quite terrified. The tiger bounded down the stairs, saw the boy, got up on its hind legs and put its ignoramus front paws on either side of the little boy's head. He stayed perfectly still, but not because he knew not to move, but because he was absolutely terrified.

The tiger turned and ran back up the stairs, right between my stilts. Someone had opened her cage. She ran straight into it.

"Keith! KEITH!! Where were you?!" My mom said hysterricly. "Opening starts in 2 minutes!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming........"

I walked slowly down the hall till I came to the curtains that separated the arena and back stage. Then I turned and ducked into bright spotlight.
