Page two of fantasy story

I went i side after my flying lesson and went to get changed in my room. I have a humongous wardrobe so I picked out a silver ball gown and went downstairs for supper. It was pork chops and spinach for dinner belch. I tried to pick up my fork daintily and nodded politely as my father rambled on about how the nearby country of Leviticus was trying to attack us.  But then why did my father ask me that dreaded question

“What will you be doing tonight Mari?” he asked

“Oh probably be working on my stiches” I lied there was no way I would ever tell my father anything on what I was doing tonight

“Well your mother and I have to go to a meeting so we won’t be back until later but then we will come check on you” dad said

“Oh that won’t be necessary” I said with –my-father-is-the-king-voice.

“Okay darling” my mom said and then we dad resumed his boring conversation and continued this boring (or not so boring) night
