A Phone Call to No where chapter 6

"Rebecca?"
"Beth, Zeus has summoned me here."
"Zeus, Zeus doesn't exsist. He's a myth."
"But if you want your friends back you're going to have to trust me."
"Ok? Where did they go?"
"Mort, slave of Hades took them. We must get them quick!"
"But the only way to get down to the Underworld is... Oh my gosh! We gotta hurry!"
Beth started to run clumsily to the front door.
"Stop!" Rebecca shouted. "Come, I know where they are."
The two ran out the back door and down the street. It was pitch black and Beth was running straight, guided by Rebecca who was grabbing her wrist.
"In here!" Rebecca yelled. There was a little hollowed out tunnel and stairs leading downward. "They're down here but you must keep quiet and follow me lead." The two tip-toed down the steps to the cave.
Drops of mud poured down ontop of Beth and she almost gagged. There was a small light at the rim of the cave and an extra room to the left.
"In here." Rebecca whispered.
Beth gulped and looked in. Jay and Rose were standing there frozen looking frightened.
"Look into my eyes." The man studdered with his deep voice.
"If they look into his eyes, they'll die." Rebecca whispered to the little girl beside her.
"What's that!" Mort spun around to the two intruders.
"Don't look into his eyes!" Beth shouted and turned back.
Rebecca grabbed her, "Your friends remember! You get them, I'll stall."
"Ok," Beth slid by Rebecca.
"AAAAHHHH!" Rebecca screamed and took all the attention from Mort. "I'm calling 911!"
"What's 911 going to do for you?"
Beth squeezed silently to Jay and Rose.
"Let's get outta here." Jay whispered. The three went straight up the steps with Rebecca still in the room.
"We can't just leave her there!" Beth stopped and said.
But before anyone could say any more there was a high-pitched scream that slowly died out. Then there was silence.
