Powerless~ Prologue
in the City, riding a Paperwing dragon with Levi. Because he's my favorite person ever. EVER.
Before I start, here are a few things you need to know:
-I'm not publishing this, as I had planned before. I've been too obsessed about publishing with some literary agent and all that to focus on what I should be paying more attention to- improving my writing.
-I'm going to post this entire novel on KidPub, and it's almost 85,000 words. Just a warning.
-It's completed, writing wise, but just has some editing to do later on in the story. By the time I post those later on chapters, it'll be done though.
-This is the first book of a trilogy, and, yes, I will be posting all three of the novels (Voiceless is book two, then Painless is the conclusion), but they're currently unwritten.
-This story is rated PG for mild language and violence.
-I adore CC, but I've faced enough bashing of my writing from people I know in real life- if you're gonna be a jerk, just go away. Thanks :)
-This prologue is short. Chapter One is short. Don't get used to it, the chapters average out at a few thousand words.

Prologue
I’m ready this time; I brace myself as she reaches towards me, her fingers drawing closer and closer.
Don’t hyperventilate, I warn myself, though it’s useless. My breathing is getting quicker still, and none of the air succeeds in filling my lungs.
I want to be strong. I really, really do. But her fingers are millimeters away and I know this curse will fall to my shoulders. All because of her- this Magician that has ruined my life.
She has destroyed the home I loved. And she’s going to kill all the people I love.
That’s why I have to be strong.
The second her hand makes contact with my face, an unseen force that makes my spine crawl sends her flying off her feet.
For a moment, I’m blind. Thick smoke clouds around the room- I can only see about a foot in front of me.
But my arms and legs feel surprisingly light, and I realize I can escape the chains that bound me to the metal table. Just in time, too.
Something sharp hits my head, sending pain ricocheting through my skull. Instinctively, I pull a hand upwards, feeling three more pieces of this dagger-like rain.
I grab one of the drops in my hand. I can see my own confused face staring back as a loud crack shakes the building.
And all at once, the realization hits me- they aren’t raindrops. It’s glass. The glass is shattering around me, falling apart. Causing pain to everyone and anyone who crosses its path.
Just like me.

Hey guys, just letting you all know that I've posted a bunch more of this :) I lost a bunch of readers when I took my unannounced break from KidPub (I almost didn't come back, actually).
