          I didn’t deserve to live. I was a murderer and this was the only fate a murderer deserved – death. It had been a little over a week since my brother passed away, and my dad was holding me responsible for the death of his only son. I couldn’t really argue with him. I did kill my brother. If I would have been there watching over him, he would have still been alive to celebrate his eighth birthday. His soft blue eyes gleaming with joy when we all sang happy birthday. His cheerful smile stretching from ear to ear as he opened his first present. It would all still be here if it wasn’t for me.

          I knew I had to do this. I would never find peace with myself if I didn’t. I was not thinking about who was going to miss me because I believed no one would. The consequence of leaving this world never crossed my mind once. I did not worry about whether I would go to heaven or hell. Honestly, I did not care. I was suffering and I wanted all the pain to go away. I had to do it. I had to drown myself.
