A Rose from the Fire~Chapter 3

Look, first of all, I need to get some things straight. It was sweet, not romantic. The girl's dancing was cool, not graceful, and we smiled, not hug. Ok? Well, I hope you get the point.
Right when the dance ended, I asked for her name. "Rose Valentine." she replied, Then, smiling, vanished into the crowd. I walked over to Jacob, who was waiting for me. "How'd you do it?" he asked. "What?" I asked back, and I admit, I was clueless there. "You got a hottie in a week. I haven't in...I don't know how long." he replied, andd I noticed that meant he was jealous. I smiled. "What in the world?" he asked. I just walked over to the Wii, but gave up on that, with the girls playing stupid games like Cooking Mama. Yahoo, that must be fun. Bullies took over the Xbox 360, and the DS was being used by Jacob. I finally settled on a laptop. But when I picked it up, I bumped into somebody. It was Rose. I smiled, and realized I was blushing. "Hi." I muttured. "Yeah, hi, wait, what's your name?" asked Rose. "Jason le Croute." I responded. She smiled again. "I've heard of you. The one who is a freak at sports, and flips on ladders." she exaggerated. I shrugged. "Yeah, that's me, Mr. Eats-a-barrel-of-sugar-each-day." I said simply. She smiiled, then, surprised me by hugging me. I couldn't help smiling, too. Wait, huh? Was I actually hugging a girl outside of my family? Woah, what the heck? Ok, I had a feeling that second. It was more than just her perfect smile, her smell of flowers, my AXE gel, or the fact that almost everyone besides us were looking at me, it was the fact that...well, yeah. I told you earlier, with this <3. But, I'll admit it. I like her, a lot. Ok? You win the debate, I've lost, happy!
It turned out she lived only a block away from my house. So, as you can expect, I walked home with her. She was talking about all those really strange stuff. She shifted quite quickly from subject to subject. Perfume, TV, romance channel, Twilight, bing, bing, bing. I was happy when I got back. I waved to her, and unlocked the door, into the house, where my mother waited for me. "Who's that girl?" she asked timidly. "New friend." I responded. I knew my mom didn't want me to date until 18 or 19, go figure on that, 10 year olds are doing it. "Her name?" she asked. "Rose Valentine, mom. Now stop badgering me, I'm tired." I responded. She huffed. The name definitely was a bad sign, as in Voldemort on Harry Potter. I mean it, she is a little dramatic. She could work on drama TV for a living. No lies!
The next morning, walking to school seemed easier. Rose was in 3 of my subjects with me: Language Arts, Algebra 3, and Chemistry. I walked over to my locker, not noticing some one approaching. I turned in time to see Rose, who was smiling. She had put on a yellow T-shirt that said, "Monster in Disguise." Great, point that out to me. She smiled. "How'd your mom think about me?" she asked. I shrugged. "She's a little overdramatic." I responded, taking out a geometry book. "I might've thought so, my parents are a little dissapproving, too." Woah, she told them about ME? I nearly dropped a ruler, which would have made a fool of myself in front of this 14 year-old girl, who was probably one that at least 100 boys had a crush on (not including me). Well, I had discovered another thing right there. 100 boys would be after my blood, go figure if I could live with this girl. The only chance was to stab them in the stomach with the butt of a sword, or something like that....
Geography began about 10 minutes later. I opened up my book, and all this stuff about Antartica, North America, South America, blah blah blah. I was just waiting for second period, where we'd have Chemistry. So, as it turned out, I was first to the class, which the teacher pointed out, was a first. I entered first, followed by Rose. She smiled at me, and took her seat at another end of the classroom. We got to do experiments, that day, something I loved. So, as you expected, we began working on making some things. I partnered up with Rose, and we began making the stuff. As it turned out, we had to use a little poison, something that could be dangerous. I lifted up the tiny tube, and dripped it in. At that precise moment, Rose's hand went foward. I wanted to shout, and I did, she realized there was a dip of green, and slipped, falling onto the ground. I heard a crack near her leg. Uh oh.
I arrived to the hospital the next day, wanting to see Rose. She sure enough still gave her favorite grin with her eyes. I smiled back, and then a doctor called me over. "What is going on?" I asked the doctor immediately. He sighed. "Sorry, Mr. le Croute." he began. "She's broken her knee."

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye, then it's just a game. Find the eye.-Sergant McFluffers
I find it highly logical to speak in a manner akin to that of Mr.Spock.-JS
