(sonic the hedgehog story) Dark Lightning-chapter 12(last chapter!!!!)

Chapter 12

"Hurry it up, but keep it silent.", whispered Tails. Behind him were Knuckles, Sonic and Amy. It was midnight, Tails had told them what he heard when Savanna was talking to the dog. They too thought she had betrayed them, now they were on a mission, to attack Team Lightning.

"I think I heard something.", whispered Amy, they were all hiding in the brush, one of the bushes were rustling. They others looked at the bush. Then a pair of ice-blue eyes appeared in the darkness.

"What is that?", asked Tails. Knuckles growled. Amy took out her hammer.

"Nothin' good.", answered Knuckles. Then a growl was heard, they all froze. There was a scream, then the one in the darkness leaped out of the bush and fled. Knuckles then chased after it, he yelled, "you coward! Come over here and fight!"

It skidded to a halt, clouds of dust surrounded it. Knuckles dived in and tackled it. Everybody else watched. "Knuckles! Get out of there! You don't even know who or what it is!", yelled Amy. Knuckles didn't answer.

When the dust had cleared, Knuckles was sitting on the ground, no one else was there. "Are you crazy? You nearly blew our cover!", yelled Amy.

"There was someone here, I was fighting him. He just dissapeared...", answered Knuckles while looking.

"Do you know who it is?", asked Tails. Knuckles shook his head, he looked behind Tails then whimpered.

"What is it?", asked Amy.

"The guy I was fighting.", answered Knuckles. The others turned around. Scourge was there, he was standing on all fours. He growled.

"You thought that you can just attack us? Well, I gonna let you. And Savanna and Shadow won't let you either.", said Scourge. Savanna and Shadow crawled out of the darkness.

"What did we do to you?", asked Shadow ready to attack.

"You betrayed us.", answered Tails, he too was ready to attack.

"What are you talking about?", asked Shadow.

"We didn't betray anyone.", said Savanna.

They all started to argue except for Scourge and Knuckles. Knuckles tried to leap on Scourge but he dodged. Knuckles leaped at Scourge. Scourge didn't move. When Knuckles was about to hit, Scourge grabbed Knuckles. Then he threw him on the ground, head first.

"I thought you learned from the last time.", said Scourge. Knuckles got up. He tried to punch Scourge but he dodged. Scourge kicked Knuckles two times in a row then punched him. Knuckles didn't fight back, he endured it. Scourge then punched Knuckles in the face, he fell to his knees, but he wasn't done yet.

"You should know when to stop," said Knuckles, he was almost to quiet to hear, "you haven't changed at all."

Scouge stopped attacking, he looked to Knuckles. "I have changed," said Scourge, "you just don't know how." A female chipmunk apeared next to Scourge, followed by the other members of Team Lightning.

Cream, Rouge, Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, Charmy the Bee and some others apeared behind Knuckles.

"Sonic told us about some back-stabbers, we came to help.", said Vector.

"We heard some noise and fighting, we wanted to see. And some misunderstanding, we wanted to fix it.", said Sarah.

"It's on!", yelled somebody out of Team Lightning. The were getting ready to attack when they saw Tails fighting Shadow and Sonic fighting Savanna. "Never mind, let's watch!", yelled the same member.

Shadow attacked Tails, sending him flying backwards. Sonic then punched Savanna. Shadow pushed Sonic into a tree. His fist was inches away from Sonics face. "Don't mess with my partner.", hissed Shadow.

Sonic pushed Shadow then said, "don't mess with mine." They were about to attack when Sarah broke them up.

"Hey, it was just a misunderstanding.", said Sarah.

"They only thing I betrayed was that dog that I made a fake deal with.", said Savanna.

"It was a fake deal?", asked Tails.

"Yeah, I just did it to get some knowledge out of him, I wasn't really going to lead it to you.", explained Savanna.

"Great, I missed my soap opra for this.", complained Rouge.

"You know what I don't get.", said Tails.

"What?", asked Savanna.

"Scourge got shredded by that dog a day ago, how is he fine now?", answered Tails.

"I have no idea.", answered Savanna.

"Why did you even come here in the first place?", asked Sonic.

"There is a colony of those dog things. I've met their leader-it ain't a pretty sight. We've heard of your team and how strong it is. So we tried to get the team back together then join you guys to destroy their leader.", explained Savanna.

"If it will save us all, I guess we'll join you.", said Sonic. All the others agreed.

"If we're all joining, who's the new leader?", asked Tails.

"I guess me and Savanna will both be it.", answered Sonic.

"I don't want to be called Team Lightning.", complained Amy.

"How about Dark Lightning?", suggested Knuckles.

"I like it.", said Savanna, Sonic nodded in agreement.

"From this day, we shall be known as Team Dark Lightning. And we shall not rest 'til all of the dog things are destroyed!", anounced Savanna. Everybody else cheered.

The next day Team Dark Lightning started on their quest. Some traveled by air, some by water and some by speed, as the traveled more members joined. And they all made a promise that they would fight not flee when they are attacked, and to never leave or abandon their partner.
