"I LURVED IT!!!" by Mollie

"Aw, this chapter was so bittersweet! I loved it, this series is really great. ^^" by Ashley

Marcus grabbed my hand.

“Come on,” Marcus said, “Don’t leave,”

“We are done our assignment, that’s all I came here for,” I said.

There we were at Starbucks, Marcus and I finished our assignment and he was practically begging me to stay.

“Let’s just hang out,” Marcus said, “I want to get to know you,”

I smiled, and sat back down at the table.

“Want another coffee?” Marcus asked, “It’s on me,”

I nodded.

“I’ll have a Caramel Latte, please,” He nodded, “Thanks again,”

He went over to order my drink. Our table was overlooking down town, so I had a perfect view of outside. There outside kissing on a bench was a couple that looked around my age. How cute they looked! A couple minutes later, Marcus returned with my drink.

“Here you go,” Marcus said, handing me my drink, “So from one through ten how good are you at Spanish?”

“I would say…diaz,”

“This is great; I’m on a date with someone who is a professional when it comes to Spanish,”

“It’s not a date,” I said, “Simply two people talking at Starbucks.”

“I don’t know about you,” He said, “But it sounds like a date,”

“Believe what you want,” I said.

He laughed.

“I like you,” He said, “You’re…different.”

I didn’t know what to say, so I took a sip of my coffee. I looked outside, and it was beginning to rain, the kissing couple stopped kissing and ran off. Ohmigosh, the boy was Jacob, but who was the girl? I almost spit out my coffee, Jacob kissing…someone? I mean….so? I don’t care who he kisses, I don’t like him that way. But that kind of explains his absence…that explains why he was not answering my calls or texts.

“Have you read the Harry Potter series?” He asked.

I looked at him and shook my head.

“I’ve heard of the series, but I never got around to reading it,”

“I am on the fourth book, I so recommend that you read,” He said, “I have the first four books if you would like to borrow the first one,”

“Yeah…maybe,” I said.

“How good are you at Spanish?” I asked.

“Seven out of ten,” He said.

“Hmm, that’s interesting…”

“Why do you say that?” He asked.

“If you were so good at Spanish why didn’t you say seven in Spanish?”

“Didn’t feel like it,”

“Excuses….excuses,”

He laughed. He stared into my eyes and I stared into his, he leaned forward to kiss…but I pulled back. There was no way he was going to kiss me.

“Uh,” I said, “I got to go,”

With that I grabbed my coffee and book bag.

“Thanks,” I said. “But I’m not going to be the eleventh one,”

At first he didn’t get it, but then his face told me that he did, he was about to say something but I hurried off. I was at the curb, waiting for a green hand to say I could walk, when Marcus came out from Starbucks. He came and sat down at the curb.

“You have a girlfriend,” I said, “You told me yourself,”

“I know,” He said.

“Then why did you try and kiss me?”

“Maggie isn’t a very honest girlfriend,”

“Apparently you aren’t either,”

“She made out with Ezra,”

“Mya made out with you,” I said.

“I made out with Mya before Maggie made out with Ezra,”

“Does that make it any better?” I asked.

He didn’t answer. The hand turned green and I stood up and walked across the street. Marcus was still at the curb staring down at his shoes, like he was ashamed of himself.

                                                 *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

“Hi Daddy,” I said, kissing my father on the cheek, when I walked into the house.

“Where’s Mom?”

“She took the kids to the mall,” My father said, “I guess you were too busy to go too,”

“You got that right,” I said, “I was doing an assignment with my partner at Starbucks,”

“Explains the coffee,” He said, looking at my half a cup of my latte.

“I heard you were partnered with…Marcus,”

“Sadly…” I said.

I had told my father everything about Marcus, how he had lots of girlfriends, how I thought it was cute, but I also said he was no good and that I had no intention of dating him.

“He tried to kiss me,” I said.

His jaw dropped.

“That moron,” My father said, “Do you have his number?”

I nodded.

“I’m going to call his parents,” My father said.

My eyes widened.

“No your not,” I said, “I’m never going to see him again, our partnership is now done, we finished our assignment,”

“Good,” My father said, “But if he does anything like that again…”

I interrupted him.

“You can call his parents,”

He smiled, and gave me a hug. Oh, how I loved my Father!

CHAPTER EIGHT

Walking into the school was like walking into a building full of murderers, you just couldn’t tell when someone would out of nowhere pull the trigger to that gun. It was crowded when I arrived at school on the 13th day, it was Thursday.  Everything that happened the previous day was roaming inside my head, Marcus and Jacob kissing some mystery girl, what is next? I walked to my locked where it held the books I needed for math, when Marcus approached me.

“Here,” He said handing me a book, “The first book of the Harry Potter series,”

“I don’t want it,” I said plainly, “Thanks though,”

With that I gathered my books and started to walk to class when I heard Marcus yell something.

“Jeez, Aria,” Marcus yelled, “Give me a chance, I broke up with Maggie,”

I glanced back and I saw Marcus looking at me as if I was a prize that he knew he would win. I blushed and continued to walk to class. I entered the classroom to find Peyton and Jacob talking to each other. Peyton and Jacob saw me, and Jacob got up and walked to his desk, I sat down at my desk.

“What was that all about?” I asked.

“Uh…nothing,” Peyton answered back, “Forget about it,”

Could Peyton possibly be the one that kissed Jacob? Would Peyton do that to me?

“I need to talk to you,” I said.

“Class is about to start, you want to talk now?” Peyton said.

I nodded, and she followed me across the hall to the girl’s bathroom.

“Two things I need to tell you,” I said, “Number one, Marcus tried to kiss me yesterday at Starbucks,”

Her eyes widened.

“Oh my god,” She said, “No way, that’s so cool,”

“What?” I asked, “It is not cool, he’s a womanizer,”

Peyton laughed.

“What else?” She asked.

“I saw someone kiss Jacob yesterday, more like making out with Jacob,”

She actually looked surprised, there was no way she was the one kissing Jacob. Besides, Peyton is a horrible liar.

“That explains him not answering your calls and texts.” Peyton said, “Did you see who was kissing him?”

I shook my head, she sighed.

“We got to get to class,” I said, “We’re talk later,”

She nodded and we hurried off to class.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Arianna Jones please report to the principles officer,” The loud speaker said in the middle of Math class. Everyone stopped and stared at me…even Jacob.
I stood up and walked out the door, walking to the principles office is just as bad as sitting on the other side of the principles desk. I had only been to the principles office once, and it was because I was accepted to a summer camp. I walked into the secretary’s office.
“Did I do anything wrong?” I asked.
“I’ll let the principle tell you,” Lauren said, she sounded very upset.
I slowly opened the door leading into the principles office.
“Principle Mari,” I said, “Is everything alright?”
“I’m afraid not,” she said, “your mother just called me saying that…your father was in a car accident,”
I gulped, and without warning I started to bawl my eyes out. Why? Why? Why? Those words were roaming inside my head, everything about Jacob and Marcus totally disappeared, the only thing that was on my mind, was my Dad.
“Can I go home?” I asked.
“Of course,” She said, “I can get you a ride,”
I shook my head.
“Don’t bother, I’ll walk,”
With that I bolted out of the office, and out the front doors of the school. I ran, and ran until I reached my house where a police car was parked. I ran up the driveway, and walked into the house. My siblings were on the couch…crying. My mother was unusually calm, but it looked like she had been crying. I joined in crying with my siblings while I listened to the officer.
“A car swerved into the right lane and hit him,” The officer said, “He’s in a coma, he has a very severe head injury,”
“Can you take me to the hospital?” My mother asked.
The officer nodded. My mother ran into her bedroom and gathered some things and told us that I was in charge. I nodded; once they left I started to cry again.
“Is Daddy going to be okay?” Matthew asked me.
“I hope so,”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Once everyone besides Kasey was in bed, I called my Mom.

“Hello?” She said, she sounded horrible, I could tell she had been crying.

“How is Daddy?” I asked.

“He is in a coma, he is unconscious,”

“Is he going to be okay?” I asked.

By this time I was crying.

“The doctor said if he wakes up he may not remember anything or anyone,”

The thought of my father not remembering any of us, made me cry more.

“Just keep us updated,” I said, “Will you?”

“Yes.”

“Goodbye,”

“Goodbye sweetie,”

With that I hit the end button and pulled out my cell phone. I had three new text messages, and two missed calls. I decided to check the messages first.

From: Peyton

September, 20th, Thursday, 12:40PM

Hey! Is everything alright? Txt back A.S.A.P

From: Peyton

September 20th, Thursday, 2:45PM

Arianna, you’re really scaring me. Txt back A.S.A.P

From: Peyton

September 20th, Thursday, 4:00PM

I’m home from school, I found out what happened I’m really sorry! Call me when you get a chance

I sighed; Peyton is and will always support me through anything. I got the courage to check my missed calls.

3 Missed calls:

Marcus, September 20th, Thursday, 3:30PM

Jacob, September 20th, Thursday, 5:00PM

I didn’t know which one I should call, I decided to call Jacob first.

“Hello,”

“Jacob, it’s me Aria,”

“Yes! Ha-ha I got you, please leave a message after the beep,”

I sighed, typical Jacob.

“Jake,” I said, “It’s me Aria, something happened to my father and he’s in the hospital, I’m just returning your call, I really need someone to talk too, call me back as soon as possible, bye!”

I decided to call Marcus.

“Hello?” Marcus said into the phone.

“Um, it’s Aria,”

“Ha-ha, I knew you would call sooner or later, I guess you decided I’m the one,”

I sighed; of course Marcus would call for that not to comfort me.

“Marcus,” I said, “what do you want?”

“I want to go on a date with you,”

“Listen it’s not the right time, my father is in a coma,”

I started to cry.

“Aria…” He said, “I didn’t know, I’m so sorry, is there anything I can do?”

He sounded so sincere and sympathetic, or more pathetic.

“Don’t play that game,” I said, “You’re just trying to mess with my mind, you probably don’t give a..."

He interupted me.

“Aria that’s not true,”

“Whatever,” I said, “Just don’t talk to me,”

With that I hit the end button, all I wanted to do was talk to Jacob I wanted him so badly…and I wanted my Dad, the Dad who probably wouldn’t remember me as me.

Here is some comments from Chapter Nine:

"OMG... Marcus came at the wrong time. Thats kinda bad... Go write more. Now." by Grace

"Eeek, bad timing Marcus!  Awww, but he's sooo sweet, but i really wanted to know what jacob was gunna say..grrrr Marcus you ruined the moment!  I take that back, he's sooo cute!  UGHHHHHHHH" by Emily~~The romance writer

HERE IS CHAPPY NINE:

I lay in my bed, thinking…about my father. It was Friday, the fourteenth day of school, but I didn’t go to school, all I did was stay in bed…thinking. Jacob still didn’t return my call, what? He was only going to call once? Ugh! He infuriates me, he’s doesn’t even return my call, and I call him my friend? Marcus is a real jerk, but he sounded so sincere. The whole girlfriend thing is really making me mad; it’s like he doesn’t need me anymore, like I don’t matter.

“Aria,” Kasey shouted from downstairs, “Mom’s on the phone,”

I raced downstairs, and grabbed the phone.

“Hey,” I heard Kasey say.

“Hi Mom,” I said, “How’s Dad?”

“He is still in a coma,”

“This is bad,” I said, “Mom, please be honest: Is he going to be okay?”

“I really don’t know,”

I sighed, and I hung up on my Mom. A minute later I heard the phone ring again, probably Mom…I felt bad because I’m the one that hung up on her, so I answered the phone.

“Hello?” I said into the phone.

“It’s Peyton,”

“Oh…hey,” I said, trying to sound upbeat.

“How’s your Dad?”

“He’s…not doing to well,”

Again, I started to bawl my eyes out.

“Aria,” Peyton said, “Don’t cry, you’re gonna make me cry,”

“Why would you cry?” I asked, “You’re father isn’t in a coma,”

“I know…” She said, “But we’re like connected, you cry, I cry,”

“How was school today?”

“It was fine,” Peyton said, “I don’t really want to tell you this right now…”

“Tell me,” I interrupted.

“Okay, well don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Peyton said, “I found out who Jacob’s girlfriend is, and he said something about you today,”

“What?”

“He said, ‘Why bother calling Aria, she’s gonna make me tell the truth,’”

“Who was he talking to?”

“Cindy…his girlfriend,”

“He and Cindy are…dating?”

“Yup,”

“I don’t feel so good,” I said, “I got to go,”

“Wait…”

But it was too late; I hung up the phone and started crying my eyes out. Why? Why didn’t Jacob tell me? Aren’t we friends? Friend’s tell friend’s everything, right? I should’ve known it was Cindy…why didn’t I think of it. A memory formed into my head;

We were at recess, it was 3rd grade, Jacob and I were playing catch. Cindy and Mya were on the swings, laughing and telling jokes. Jacob turned his head to look at them, and he just stared at them. I through the ball and it hit Jacob in the stomach. He turned his head back in my direction.

“Snap out of it,” I said.

“But…”

“You don’t really like any of them do you?” I asked.

He shook his head, but I could tell he was lying.

“Jake, I have known you my whole life, I know when your lying or not,”

No answer.

“Which one…?” I asked.

He frowned.

“I don’t like either of them, they aren’t my type…”

“Uh-huh, what were you staring at then?”

“I was just mesmerized at the swing, swinging back and forth,”

“You’re a lying sack of poop,”

I ran and tackled him to the ground, and we both laughed.

My memory disappeared when I heard screaming coming up stairs. I sighed, and slowly made my way upstairs. David and Matthew were fighting over a transformer.

“Hey,” I shouted, “Hey!”

They both turned to look at me.

“That toy is going to be thrown out the window if you don’t share,”

They both gulped.

“Here,” Matthew said handing the toy to David,”

“No you can have it,”

“No really I insist,”

They started to fight…again. I grabbed the toy and broke off one leg and then another and handed one leg to each of them.

“Happy?”

Without warning, David stomped his feet and ran downstairs, and Matthew started to cry. I sighed, things couldn’t get worse. Then suddenly I remembered, today was Friday, it was time to confront Jacob.

“Kasey.” I shouted, “I’m going across the street, I’ll be back,”

I heard her scream okay, and I was out the door. It was drizzling outside, so I ran across the street, the faster, the less wetter.

I knocked on the door. I heard feet walking on the hard wood floor, I could tell it was Jacob’s Mom.

“Aria,” Mrs. Hogan said, “What a surprise!”

She hugged me.

“I’m so sorry about your father,”

I nodded, and forced myself not to cry.

“Is Jacob here?” I asked.

She nodded, and motioned me to come inside.

“He’s upstairs in his bedroom,”

“Hello Aria,” I heard Jacob’s little sister, Mikayla say.

“Hey Kay,” I said, “How are you doing?”

I bent down and gave her a hug.

“Fine,” She said, “How about you?”

“I’ve been better,” I said.

“Jacob is upstairs,” She said.

“Thanks,”

With that I hurried upstairs. I went to open the door, but it was locked. I knocked.

“Jake,” I said, “It’s Aria,”

No answer.

Then I remembered there was a key under the plant by his door, I quickly lifted the plant from the ground and grabbed the key. I opened the door to find Jacob and…Cindy kissing.

“I’m so sorry,” I said, and I then quickly closed the door. I sighed, and attempted to hold back tears but they came out anyway. I ran down the steps sobbing, why was I crying? I guess I really wanted Jacob to be my friend and I wanted him by myself, but I guess he had other plans…

I heard Jacob coming down the steps.

“Aria, wait up!” I heard him shout.

I quickly ran out the front door. Behind me the door opened, Jacob came running out, it was raining harder and I ran but I slid and fell down, my ankle hurt so bad/

“Aria,” He shouted again.

He ran to my aid, I was screaming in pain, I had twisted my ankle.

“Leave me alone, Jacob.” I said, I tried to stand up but I quickly fell back down again.

I saw a car pull up my driveway, and to my disappointment it was…Marcus. And the worst part was that Jacob had seen him. Marcus saw me and came running to my aid.

“Arianna,” He shouted, “Are you okay?”

“What is he doing here?” Jacob asked.

I shrugged.

“Where does it hurt?” Marcus asked, crouching down to my level.

“Hey, I’m taking care of her,”

“Since…when?” Marcus asked.

“She’s my friend,”

“When was the last time you had a full conversation with her?”

Marcus had a point.

“Fine,” Jacob said, “She’s all yours,”

He looked at me and I looked at him, my eyes were telling him to stay, but he walked up the stone path leading to his house.

“Jacob!” I shouted.

But he didn’t look back.

“Don’t worry about him,” Marcus said, “Can you try to stand up?”

I shook my head, he put one hand under my head and the other lifted me off the ground.

“Where are you taking me?” I asked.

“To your house, silly,”

I would’ve preferred Jacob to help me, but Marcus would do. He carried me to my house.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
HERE IS CHAPPY TEN!! but first...some great comments!
"That's sad... I think that she should have left her phone on and saw what Jacob had to say. It would have been funny. Keep writing." by Grace
Marcus carried me into the house and gently laid me on the couch. He examined my ankle for a while.
“It looks like a sprained ankle,” He said running his hand gently over my ankle, “I know someone that can help.”
“Who…?”
“You’ll find out soon enough,”
With that he left the room. David walked up to me.
“Should I call Mom?” He asked.
I shook me head.
“Absolutely not,”
“Okay.”
A moment later my cell phone received a text, it was from Jacob.
From: Jacob
September 21st, Friday, 5:00PM
I would’ve helped out if Mr. Charming didn’t interfere, sorry,”
I decided to write back.
To: Jacob
September 21st, Friday, 5:02PM
Excuses, you could’ve still helped, oh wait! You were too busy MAKING OUT WITH YOUR GIRLFRIEND!
With that I turned off my cell phone. Just then, Marcus walked into the living room.
“Help is on the way,”
“Good,” I said, “Now, what are you doing here?”
“I’m helping you,” He said.
“Why did you show up at my house?”
“I felt bad,” He said, “I came to give you this,”
He reached into his pocket and brought out a card.
“Read it,” He said, “Please,”
“Is it blank inside?” I asked.
“Not anymore,”
I slowly opened the card, it read;
Aria,
   I understand that you’re mad at me, but I couldn’t help but to give you this card. Your father is in my prayers, yes! I do pray I have ever since…Jenny died; I suddenly became all religious, because she was religious. I’m positively sure your father will be okay, till then, I’ll do anything for you. I understand your father and I aren’t very good acquaintances, but I would like to meet him and get to know him. He called my Mom yesterday, saying that I tried to kiss you, my Mom said that he said if I ever try it again, I will be his arch enemy, and he said to stay away from you. That didn’t last long, eh? I hope your father will be okay, your family is in my prayers,
                              Marcus
I had zero clue on what to say. So I motioned him to come to me, and I kissed him on the cheek.
“Thank you,” I said while wiping the tears away, “Thank you for everything,”
He nodded.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
“Help has arrived,” Marcus said smiling.
With that he opened the door. A big, muscular guy walked into the house. He had to duck when he went under the door, he was at least 6’2.
“Aria,” He said, “Meet my Dad,”
The only thing that was on my mind was, Man, he’s huge!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Marcus explained to me that his father was a doctor. Marcus’s Dad introduced himself as, Joe. What a common name! Joe wrapped my ankle in a cast, and gave me some pain medicine, which I happily accepted. It hurt just as bad as breaking an ankle. Kasey prepared a beverage, after he was done drinking he said goodbye and left.

“Marcus,” I said, “That kiss was a thank you kiss, not a I-wanna-date-you-kiss, okay?”

He nodded.

“I should be going,” He said, “I hope you feel better,”

“Thank you for everything,” I said.

He laughed.

“You already said that,”

I laughed.

“So I have,”

“See you at school?”

“We’ll see,”

He nodded, and ran out the door to catch his father before he pulled out of the driveway.

“Ooh,” Kasey said, “Aria has a boyfriend,”

“Shut up,” I said, “He’s everything but that,”

The phone began to ring.

“I got it,” Kasey said running to it.

“Hello?” I heard her say.

“Mommy,” She said, “How’s Daddy?”

“He’s awake?”

Kasey came running into the room.

“Dad’s awake!”

“What?” I said, “Oh my god,”

I began to freak out.

“Can I talk to her?” I asked Kasey.

She shook her head. Suddenly her happy expression turned into a expression that looked like she was about to cry.

“Okay,” She said, “Don’t be too long,”

With that she hung up the phone.

“She said she will call back,” Kasey said.

“Is everything alright?”

“Dad’s awake,” She said, “He doesn’t remember Mom,”

With that she started to sob.

“Which means, he won’t remember us,” Kasey said.

With that she buried her face in my wet sweatshirt.
