"This is reallllllyy good! But the thing is I'm starting to think you're drifting away from the romance, but no worries!! It's totally easy to get back on track <3" by Emily~~The RomanceWriter
"Aw that's so cute! ^^ Can't wait for more Marcus and Aria action :o They're still my favorite couple. x" by Ashley!!
That night when I was trying to go to sleep a memory formed in my head.
“Annie,” A lady in the shopping mall shouted at her child, “Come here.”
The girl fell to the ground and started kicking and screaming.
“That girl needs a good spanking,” Seven years old, Jacob said.
“Jacob,” Mrs. Hogan said, “The little girl is autistic.”
“What’s autistic…?” Jacob asked, suddenly interested.
“It’s a little hard to explain,” Mrs. Hogan said, “But one thing I want to say, always be kind to them,”
Jacob nodded.
“I’ll be back,” Mrs. Hogan said, “You two stay here I need to try on some clothes.”
Once Mrs. Hogan was in the dressing room, I started talking.
“Do you think it’s a sickness?” I asked.
Jacob shrugged.
“I don’t know,” Jacob said, “Just don’t stare,”
I stopped staring and turned to look at Jacob.
“I feel bad for that little girl,”
“I do too,”
I was so tired once the memory disappeared, my mind went to rest and I fell asleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I slowly got up out of bed, yesterday night the whole Hogan Family came of course My Dad didn’t remember anyone. Jacob and I played with Xavier and the other kids. While My Dad and Mr. Hogan talked, My Dad talked to him as though he had just met him. Mrs. Hogan and My Mom talked and I saw My Mother crying. It was around eight-thirty when they finally left. As soon as I was dressed I walked myself down the steps and into the Kitchen. My Father was seated at the kitchen table, My Mother no where in site.
“Hi,” I said, “Where’s My Mom?”
“She said that she had to go shopping,”
“I hope food shopping,”
“Yeah,” He said, “I hope too.”
I went over to the freezer and got out two toaster strudels, and I popped them in the toaster and took a seat next to my Father. Kasey was helping Mackenzie and Lucy find there shoes, while David and Matthew were doing last minute schoolwork.
“Guys,” I said, “You don’t have time to do your homework,”
“Yes,” Matthew said, “I do,”
“Whatever,” I said, “Hurry up!”
The toaster popped, and I got my toaster strudels out of the toaster and put the icing on it. I got a plastic plate, and put both of them on it.
“I have to get to the bus stop,” I said, going to kiss my Father but remembered that it might be a little awkward. “Bye,”
“Have fun at school,” My Father said.
I smiled and left the house. Surprisingly, Jacob was no where outside. I sighed, and walked to the bus stop. Eating while walking is not the easiest thing to do, but I managed. By the time I got to the bus stop I had a half of a toaster strudel left, I quickly stuffed it in my mouth.
“Good morning,” Joe the bus driver said, “How are you?”
I greeted him with a hug.
“Fine,”
“How’s your father?”
“Um…I would rather not answer that question,”
He nodded and turned on the bus. I took a seat next to Peyton.
“Hey,” I said, “Have you seen Jacob?”
She shook her head.
“I thought he was with you,”
I shook my head.
Peyton and I talked about rumors going on at school practically the whole ride to the school, when we got there we all exited the bus and walked into the school. We put our things in our locker and went to homeroom.
“Good morning,” The Teacher said.
We all said good morning. The rest of homeroom Peyton and I talked until it was time to go to class. When we arrived, Jacob was still no where to be seen, it wasn’t till Spanish class when I started to get worried.
“Mrs. Martinez,” I said, “Do you know where Jacob Hogan is?”
“He’s home sick I’m afraid,” She said, “His Mother called, and said he had the flu,”
“Oh,”
Another student that was absent was Cindy.
“Where is Cindy?” I asked.
“She was sent home sick today,”
I began to wonder. Are Jacob and Cindy really sick? Or is that there excuse? After school I ran home and crossed the street to where Jacob’s house is.
“Hi,” I said as Mrs. Hogan answered the door, “Is Jacob available?”
“He’s very sick,” Mrs. Hogan said, “He’s up in his bedroom with the door locked,”
“Oh,” I said, “Well, when you see him can you tell him to call me?”
She nodded and we said good-bye. I decided to text him;
To: Jacob
September 26th, Wednesday, 4:00PM 2010
Where r u?
When I didn’t get an answer right away, I started to worry. Could he be hurt? Is he really sick? When I was just about to click send on the 2nd text message, I received one, it was from Jacob.
To: Aria
September 26th, Wednesday, 4:15PM 2010
I snuck out, not sick, Billy needed me…
Billy. Why didn’t I think about that? I ran to Billy’s house and I was so out of breath I collapsed on the front porch, I was so tired. When I finally started to breathe again, I knocked on the door, a minute late Cindy came.
“Hi,” Cindy said, “Jacob thought you would come,”
She opened the door, and I walked inside. The house was nothing like what I saw the other night, it was completely trashed.
“Is Billy alright?” I asked.
“Apparently, Jacob forgot to visit him yesterday, Billy went totally berserk,”
“He was worried about Jacob?” I asked.
She nodded.
“Where is he now?”
“He is upstairs bawling his eyes out,” Cindy said, “Jacob is trying to calm him down.”
I started to head upstairs but Cindy stopped me.
“I won’t let you go upstairs,” Cindy said, “It’s too dangerous,”
I nodded and took a seat on the couch. About a half an hour later both Cindy and my phone rang. It was a text from Jacob, It read:
To: Aria
September 26th, Wednesday, 4:50PM 2010
Safe.
I sign of relief flowed through me.
“It’s Jacob,” I said, “He said safe,”
“Go on,” Cindy said, she sounded upset.
“Aren’t you coming?”
“Billy just wants you,”
I gulped, and started about the stairs. Once I reached the 2nd floor, I realized they were in the attic. I climbed up the stairs, once I reached the top I heard Billy scream happily.
I walked over to them.
“Hey Billy,” I said hugging him, “How are you?”
“Good…now,”
“Want some tea?” he asked.
“Uh…I’m not that thirsty,”
He started to cry.
“Actually…I’ll have some,”
He nodded happily and headed down stairs.
“Thanks for coming,” Jacob asked.
“You didn’t ask me to come,”
“I know,” He said, “But I figured you would come anyway,”
Silence.
“I totally forgot to visit Billy yesterday,” Jacob said sitting down, “It’s my entire fault,”
“No it isn’t,” I said, sitting down next to him.
“Do you need help cleaning up?” I asked.
“If you don’t mind,” He said.
“Aria, at your service,” He laughed.
I decided to text my Mom.
To: Mom
September 26th, Wednesday, 5:00PM 2010
With Jake, be home later.
Jacob and I talked for a couple of minutes, until we heard footsteps coming up the stairs, it was Billy.
“Here is tea,” He said, handing a cup to Jacob and me.
We both stared at each other, closed out eyes and took a sip. My eyes widened, it didn’t taste horrible it fact it was delicious.
“This is really good,” Both Jacob and I said in unison.
“I learned to make yummy tea,” He said.
Okay, I’m not a big tea fan but this was delicious.
“What’s in here?” I asked.
“Honey and herbs,” He said, “And some lemon.”
“It’s amazing,” I said.
He smiled and nodded his head.
Jacob placed his cup on the floor, stood up and gave Billy a big hug.
“Buddy, you did a great job!”
I was so happy, Billy learned to make tea, and it was delicious.
Here is Chapter Seventeen but FIRST some great comments!!
“It’s almost the weekend,” Peyton cried with happiness, “Thank the lord!”
I laughed.
“You really don’t like school, do you?” I asked.
She shook her head; there we were sitting on my bed playing solitaire.
“I won,” Peyton said throwing all the cards up in the air.
“As always,”
“I’m in the mood for Starbucks,” Peyton said.
“The loser buys,” I said.
With that we grab our jackets and headed out the door. It was only supposed to be Peyton and I but my Mom forced me to take Kasey, she say we need sister bonding.
“I don’t want coffee,” Kasey said as soon as we got to Starbucks.
“Why did you come then?” I asked.
“I wanted a smoothie,”
“You can get a smoothie here,” I said.
“I don’t like them here,” Kasey told me.
I sighed.
“Well, you’re not walking by yourself to get one,”
“I’ll go,” Peyton said, “Order me a Caramel Latte with extra caramel please,”
I smiled.
“Okay,” I said, “Kasey mind Peyton,”
“I’m not two,” Kasey said.
I rolled my eyes and walked inside. It smelled so good, oh how I loved the smell of coffee. When I was younger I wanted to own a coffee plantation in
“Is that you Aria?” He asked.
I stood up smiling; of course I was faking it.
“Marcus,” I said, “I didn’t see you there,”
He walked over to me and gave me a hug, why did he give me a hug?
“Guess what!” He said.
“What…?” I asked.
“I broke up with Maggie,”
My eyes widened.
“What the heck did you do that for?” I asked.
“We weren’t in love,” He said.
“Really…?” I asked in a sarcastic tone, “I thought people in middle school knew what love was,”
“You broke up for nothing!” I said.
“I didn’t break up for nothing I broke up for you,”
“I didn’t ask you too,” I said.
“You didn’t need to,” He replied.
“Marcus,” I said, “When will you ever accept the fact that I don’t like you like that,”
“I don’t accept lies,”
“You think I’m lying?” I asked, “Now you really don’t know me.”
“Give me a chance,” He said, “Please…?”
I had to think about it. He was the one who helped me when I was hurt…unlike Jacob. Should I give him a chance? But my Dad doesn’t like him, but my Dad doesn’t remember saying to stay away from him.
“Fine,” I said.
A smile lit up his face.
“Awesome,” He said, “How about Saturday, seven o’clock at Sous le Clair de Lune,”
Sous Le Clair De Lune is the most expensive restaurant in town, frankly I think the name is a little bizarre. Translated in English it’s Beneath the Moonlight.
“Sous Le Clair De Lune is way too expensive,” I said.
“Your not paying,” He said, “So why are you worrying?”
I smiled.
“Saturday it is then,” I said.
He smiled, picked up his coffee and said good-bye then he quickly left Starbucks. As soon as I got in line, Peyton and Kasey walked through the doors.
I didn’t know how to say it so…
“I have a date with Marcus,” I blurted out.
Both Peyton and Kasey’s jaw dropped. I had no problem telling them, but how could I tell Jacob?
Here is Chapter Eighteen but FIRST some great comments!
A/N: Hey! WOW!! I'm on a roll, two chapters today! YAY!!! I wanna thank EVERYONE who has commented, you guys are the best!!!!! Enjoy :)
“You have to be kidding me,” Peyton said still staring at me with her jaw dropped.
“You are kidding, right?” Kasey asked.
I blushed.
“I only did it so he would stop bugging me,” I said.
“Uh-huh,” Peyton said, “I don’t believe you one bit; you did it because you like him.”
I didn’t answer; I ordered the two coffees’s and moved down to where you pick them up at.
“Where is he taking you?” Kasey asked.
“No where amazing,” I said smiling, “Just…Sous Le Clair De Lune,”
Again both there jaws dropped.
“You two are a perfect couple,” Peyton said practically screaming.
I smiled.
Once we got our coffee all three of us sat down at the table overlooking outside.
“I don’t want to like him,” I said, “He dates everyone in school, what if I’m just another girl to date?”
“I don’t know,” Kasey said, “Didn’t he try and kiss you?”
My face turned bright red.
“How’d you know about that?” I asked.
“I hired some short people,”
“David and Matthew…?”
She nodded.
It was around six o’clock pm when we finally arrived back at our house; Peyton already went her separate ways to where her house is. She only lived about three blocks away, no biggie.
“Mom, we’re home,” I shouted, as we walked through the door.
“I’m upstairs,” She shouted back.
Both Kasey and I bolted upstairs to where Mom’s voice came. We found her in her room, sobbing while looking at her wedding photos.
“Mom,” I cried, while running to hug her, “its okay,”
“No it isn’t,” She said, “The doctor called today he said there is a seventy percent chance they he won’t remember,”
That’s when both Kasey and I started to cry. We cried for hours apparently my Dad took the other kids out to the movies, my Mom forced him to.
“What did Dad take them to see?” I asked.
“Uh…some stupid action slash adventure movie,”
I laughed, tears still streaming down my cheeks.
“Guess what!” I said, trying to cheer my Mom up.
“What…?” She said, suddenly interested.
Before I could say anything, Kasey blurted it out.
“Who is this lucky boy?” My Mother asked.
Again, before I could answer Kasey blurted it out.
“Marcus…”
“Kasey!” I said, “Will you let me talk?”
“Was that the nice young man who helped Matthew get down from the tree?”
I nodded.
“And was that the nice young man who tried to kiss you?”
I nodded slowly.
“How’d you know?” I asked, “Oh-wait let me guess, Kasey?”
My Mom shook her head and smiled.
“Actually it was your Father,”
I sighed.
“Would he mind…you know me going on a date with him?”
“He would if he remembered us but for right now you can go on a date with him,”
“Thanks,” I said, “I really don’t like him, but he kept bugging me…”
“Uh-huh,” My Mom said, “I don’t believe that at all, you like him!”
I smiled.
“Why does everyone keep saying that?” I asked.
“Because it’s true,” Kasey said, shaking me, “It’s true and you’re denying it,”
I shrugged,
“Maybe, maybe not,”
“I have one problem,” I said.
“And what’s that?” My Mom asked.
Kasey went to speak.
“No,” I said, “Kasey let me tell her,”
She laughed.
“Jacob doesn’t really like him,”
“Honey,” My Mother said, “Follow your heart,”
I nodded.
“Somebody told me that before,” I said, “Do you know who?”
She smiled.
“Your grandmother told me to tell you that before she…died,”
“I really wished I could’ve meant her,”
My Mom nodded and smiled.
“She was a really great person, just like you,” She said, running her fingers through my hair.
“Hey!” Kasey said, “What about me?”
My Mom smiled and turned to Kasey.
“And you too!”
We all smiled and had a group hug.
“So I shouldn’t tell Jacob?”
“Not if you don’t want too,” My Mom said, “But if he asks, don’t lie,”
I nodded.
Here is Chapter Nineteen but FIRST some great comments!
"Awww, thats sad :( BUT THIS STORY IS SUPER GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!" From Emily~~The Romance Writer
“How do I look?” I said spinning around so everyone can get a good look of me.
There I was in my bedroom with the cutest outfit on imaginable. I was wearing a nice blouse that I got at Urban Outfitters and a skirt I got from Forever 21.
“You look beautiful!” My Mom exclaimed.
I smiled.
“Thank you,”
I glanced at my clock it was quarter to seven.
“He should be here any second,” Peyton said, “Are you excited?”
“Maybe…” I said turning around to look at myself in the mirror. I had curled my hair and my Mom put it in a nice bun. Peyton did my make-up and let me tell you I looked ah-mazing. Suddenly I heard the door bell ring. I screamed, grabbed my purse and ran down the steps. I opened the door.
Jacob was standing there with a confused look on his face.
“Hey!” I said.
Such a bad time, I thought.
“Hi…” He said, “What’s up?”
“I’m asking the same question,”
“I came here to see if you wanted to come with me to see Billy, but I see you already have plans,”
“Jacob…”
But before I could say anything else a car pulled into the driveway. Marcus got out of the passenger seat, he looked amazing. He was wearing a green button down shirt with black slacks.
Jacob just looked at me; it looked so hurt I felt so bad.
“Jacob,” I said, “let me explain,”
“No need too,” He said, with that he turned around and headed down the front steps. I was a monster, nothing else.
“Jacob,” Marcus said, “What’s up?”
Jacob didn’t answer he just continued to walk.
“Did I do something wrong?” Marcus asked.
I shook my head.
“He’s being a drama king,” I said hiding my sad face.
“Oh, you look amazing,” He said grabbing my hand and twirling me.
I blushed.
“Thanks!”
“Are you ready to go?” He asked.
I smiled and nodded. I said good-bye to my family and I let Marcus lead me to the car. His Father was driving a blue mustang, so pretty.
“Hey Joe,” I said.
“Aria,” he said, “You finally gave in?”
I forced a smile.
“I guess I did,”
Marcus climbed in the back seat with me.
“How is your ankle?” Joe asked.
“Its fine, it’s been fine for a while,”
“That’s good,” He said, “I heard about your father, how’s he doing?”
It’s like a light bulb appeared above my head.
“Joe,” I said, “Is there anyway you could re-boot my Dad’s memory?”
He looked at me through the mirror of the car.
“Aria,” He said, “The only person that can and hopefully will heal your father is God, and it all depends on his plan.”
Always the same answer.
Here is Chapter Twenty!!! BUT FIRST SOME GREAT COMMENTS!!
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I don't know what to say." by Grace
"You're an amazing writer and don't you forget it." by Emily~~The romance writer!
"
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! HAA... SUCKS TO JACOB... shouldaa asked her out first .. :L buut still aria + marcus are an a-dor-able couple!!
wooooo i love this story... i agree... you are an a-maz-ing writer <3" From Mej!
Once we arrived at Sous Le Clair De Lune, I fell in love with the place. It was so fancy and elegant I thought I should’ve dressed a little fancier. Joe dropped us off and told us to call when we’re done. Marcus grabbed my hand and led me into a really nice lobby. There was a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, and there was a desk on the other side of the room where you check in.
“Name…?” A lady dressed in a nice suit asked politely.
“Marcus and Aria,” Marcus said.
“Follow me,” She said smiling.
She led us up a stair case to the second floor, we passed people eating in there fancy dresses and outfits.
“Aren’t we eating here?” I asked.
“No,” The lady said, “Keep following me and you’ll find out where your eating,”
We followed her up another stair case; at the top of the staircase was a door. The lady opened the door and led us to the most beautiful place, the rooftop. There were light’s going around the whole building, there was tables covered in the most gorgeous table cloths I had ever seen.
“Oh, that’s why the name in English means, Beneath the Moonlight,”
Marcus smiled.
“Yes, that’s where the name came from.”
“It’s absolutely gorgeous up here,” I said.
The lady led us to a table and Marcus pulled out a chair for me.
“Thank you,” I said.
I sat down and Marcus did so too.
“May I start you off with a beverage?” The lady asked, while she handed us a couple of menus,”
“Yes,” Marcus said, “ginger ale, please!”
“Okay, and for you?” She asked turning to face me.
“Can I have a…coke please?”
She nodded.
“I’ll be right back with your beverages.”
“Thank you,” Marcus and I said at the same time.
There were other couples on the rooftop too. But most of them were older.
“Marcus,” I said, “This is beautiful!”
He laughed.
“You already said that!”
I smiled.
“So do you recommend anything?” I asked, staring intently at the menu.
“I recommend everything!” He said, “They are so delicious!”
I breathed heavily and scanned my eyes across everything on the menu. A moment later a different girl came up with drinks.
“Juliette?” Marcus asked.
“Oh, it’s you…”
She handed us our drinks.
“What would you like to eat?” She asked.
“I’ll have…”
Marcus interrupted me.
“We’ll start with the salads,” He said, “Thank you!”
She scowled at him and left to get the salads.
“Who was that?” I asked.
“Uh…Maggie’s sister,”
“Maggie?” I said, “As in Maggie the recently ex-girlfriend Maggie?”
He nodded.
“That must me awkward,”
“Very,” He said, smiling.
“Listen I know you were in love with Jenny and then she…passed away,” I said, “But does that give it an okay to date everyone in school?”
His smile faded and he looked very sad.
“No…” He said, “But it does take my mind off Jenny.”
“Really…?” I asked.
“Never,” He exclaimed, “Never have I forgotten about Jenny,”
I remember the day we all found out;
“Good Morning children,” Mrs. Jenkins said, “I have some very sad news to tell you all,”
“Wait!” Young Marcus said, “Before you tell us where is Jenny?”
“That’s the sad news,” Mrs. Jenkins said almost in tears, “She’s gone to heaven,”
The whole class erupted in tears. Marcus just sat there staring into space. A minute later he got out of his seat and slowly walked out of class, Mrs. Jenkins didn’t bother to stop him. We heard screams and sobbing coming from the hallway, we didn’t dare go out there.
“She told me,” Marcus said, “A week before she died that if anything ever happened to her to love somebody again,”
“I’m so sorry,” I said, “I know how you must feel,”
“No you don’t,” He said, “You don’t know half of it,”
Juliette showed up with the salads and she put them on the table, Marcus didn’t even say thank you he was staring into space just like the day we heard about Jenny. A single tear slowly fell from his eyes; I knew he was forcing himself not to cry. I got up out of my seat and went over to him and gave him a hug, he automatically started to sob.
“It just isn’t fair,” He said between sobs, “She will never get married or have kids,”
I started to cry, but very little.
“Things happen,” I said, “And a lot of times we don’t know why, they just do.”
I kissed him on the cheek, he turned his head and we kissed flat on the lips. I pulled away, he stared into my eye, that’s when I noticed his, and they were beyond beautiful.
“Shall we eat?” I asked, smiling.
He nodded, and we did so. The rest of the night was the best night ever. We got our meals had dessert and just talked. It was nice, it was amazing. It was nine-thirty by the time we pulled up my driveway. He walked me to the door, and we kissed again.
“Thank you!” I said, “For a wonderful night,”
“Thank you,” He said, “This is without doubt the best date ever!”
I smiled.
“Hey,” He said, “I got these tickets to a play, I know it sounds a little boring but it’s Oliver Twist that’s my favorite show!”
“And…?”
He smiled.
“Would you like to go?” He asked.
I nodded, and kissed him on the lips again.
“Where is it?” I asked.
“
“Not bad,” I said.
We kissed one last time and I walked through the front door smiling, all eyes were on me
