Noah’s dad wasn’t as thrilled.
“No! Absolutely not!†Noah’s dad said with a dismissive wave of his arms.
“But dad--â€
“NO!†Noah’s dad exploded, “I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO DO THIS!â€
“Why?†Noah pleaded, “This could be my big break! I could become rich, famous, the possibilities are endless!â€
“Noah, you listen to me,â€
Noah stared at the floor.
“You will not go to California. You will graduate from high school, you will go to college, and you will get a real job, not become some rock and roll star.â€
“What if I don’t want to?†Noah said, turning his gaze to his dad.
“What did you just say?†His dad said, folding his arms across his chest.
“I said, what if I don’t want to. What if I want to become a rock and roll star?â€
“Well that’s just to dang bad, because if you live under this roof, you are going to live by my rules.â€
Noah stalked up the stairs to his room, slamming the door behind him. He pulled out a large sports bag and began to stuff clothes into it. After he had packed enough clothing for about a week and a half, he grabbed his notebook, and yanked his guitar off its stand. Noah trudged down the stairs and walked to the front door, swiping his car keys off the table.
“Where do you think you're going?†His dad called after him.
Noah didn’t answer, he just kept walking to his car. He opened the door, sat down, and started the engine. Then he backed out of the drive way, and into the unknown….
