Team Forever - Chapter 52

A/N: Okay, I've been thinking about TF. I think it's getting close to the end, but there's DEFINATELY going to be a sequel, probably called The Alliance or The Alliance Scrolls. More on that later, though.
Chapter 52
Team Leather walked through the streets in silence, exchanging an occasional glance.
Finally, Alec asked, "Who were those people?"
Kaylee frowned tightly and her eyes flickered to Alec's face.
"They were members of the Thief King's Gang," she answered.
"How did you get caught up with them?" he asked.
Kaylee looked away from Alec and answered, "Jace wanted to help me find you guys. It's... never mind."
"Well, he was a creep," Alec muttered, crossing his arms.
After another few moments of silence, Alec looked over at Karen. She was wandering a few paces behind her teammates, looking a bit confused.
"Karen? Are you alright?" he asked, slowing down to keep pace with her.
"What? Oh, oh yes. I'm just... thinking," she murmured.
Kaylee and Alec looked at her worriedly for a few moments, then looked back at each other.
"Well, what are we going to do?" Alec asked. "We're not actually going to-"
Kaylee slapped a hand over Alec's mouth and hissed, "There could be Thief King members anywhere around here. So shut up."
Alec frowned and pushed Kaylee's hand away.
"Okay. But where are we going now?" he asked, crossing his arms again.
"The first thing we're doing is leaving Kingsmore," she said, dropping her voice to a whisper. "Then we can talk."
So Team Leather hurried through the tight, busy streets in silence.

Bella adjusted the sac that hung from her shoulder and stretched. Morning sunshine beat down on the travelers.
"Boss? When are we going to stop?" Hu asked, yawning.
"Tonight," Bella answered, not looking back.
"We didn't stop at all last night!" Hana exclaimed, eyes wide.
"We're top-level warriors. We can go a night without sleep," Bella told her teammates.
"But what if we come across some of Gorron's wearriors? And we're too tired to fight?" Hu demanded.
Bella gritted her teeth and spun around.
"We could beat a team of Gorron's warriors in our sleep," she said, her voice dangerously quiet. "We don't need to worry. Or have you dimwits already forgotten what happened when we got that scroll for Jin? It was six to three and we still managed to escape with barely a scrape. And how did we leave them?"
"Four of the six were dead," Hu said softly.
"Exactly. And we could have dealt with the other two if we had wanted to. So we do not need to worry about Gorron's warriors. We do, however, have to worry about Jin. I want to complete this mission as quickly and efficiently as possible," Bella told her teammates, spinning around and resuming a brisk pace. "I don't want to just satify her, I was to impress her. I need to impress her."
Hu and Hana nodded and followed their leader silently.
"The school is still a few days away. The sooner we get there the better." Bella grinned and added, "Gorron won't know what hit him!"
