A/N: Another segment of my series of TRUE VELVET. Hope you like it! But...sorry I cut it off at the end. It's short.
Once again, Mr. Helmsworth and Mr. Palmer met.
This time, it was at the parking lot of City Hall.
Only a few parked cars were there, and ignoring the people driving by, they talked.
"Have you got the key?" Mr. Palmer asked.
Mr. Helmsworth nodded and took something out of his pocket. He unfolded a layer of tissue. There, in his hands, was a bright gold key. Specifically, it was the key to the mayor's room.
Richard Grumardi, Rita Grumardi's grandfather, was 59. He was also the mayor of Carson City.
Rita Grumardi comes from a long line of rich ancestors, some famous and some just plain rich.
"How about the file? Have you got that?" Franklin Palmer asked.
"It is in my briefcase. Wait for a minute," Robert Helmsworth said, reaching into his suitcase. He pulled out a file and revealed a piece of paper.
CITY HALL
As you know, the mayor of Carson City, Nevada is Mr. Richard Taft Grumardi. He has been mayor for over 10 years.
Mr. Palmers grunted. "Skip that!" he demanded.
Mayor Richard Grumardi is always in his sanctuary, his room where he works. This room is carefully guarded by security, and there are cameras inside the building. If you wish to go to a meeting, you can go into the meeting room. The times below are the times he is in the main room (where he works) for the date of 4/16/02-4/28/02
10:00am-11:30am
12:30pm-1:40pm
2:20pm-5:40pm
7:30pm-9:00pm
9:30pm-12:00 am.
"It's 3:00 right now, and it's April 16th. It's worth a shot right now," said Mr. Helmsworth calmly.
"Yes, of course. Let's go."
From the trunk of their champaigne-colored Cadillac they grabbed two guns, a twelve sticks of Trident gum, one can of pepper spray, another briefcase, and a big brown potato sack that could fit a person. Perfect.
OPERATION R. GRUMARDI was a go.
