Rita Grumardi stared out at the window. She was wrapped in a warm cream-colored robe, sipping lemon tea.
The sky was a gray-ish blue-ish color, with tiny raindrops falling down on earth like delicate snowflakes (as AnnaMarie said before).
"Ohh..." She sighed longingly, staring at the view abover her. She missed her daughter much, for it was her only child. Her husband, Wesley, had divorced her 3 years ago.
Rita could remember it faintly...
It was a summer in June...
No, that was not it. She quickly brushed away the thought before the tears could escape from her eyes.

Outside, a man named Dale Tate was walking up the stairs of Rita Grumardi's mansion.
He was wearing a black ski mask on his face, a black T-shirt, and black jeans.
He was 27 years old, no more than that.
Before Dale knocked on the door, he slipped on some gloves and retrieved the envelope from his pocket. He firmly knocked on the door, slid the envelope under the door, and ran.

Rita walked up to the door a minute after the knock.
As she was about to reach for the door handle, she saw a red envelope on the floor. Rita then peeked outside. No one was there.
Rita looked at the front of the envelope. No name or return address.
She carefully opened the envelope and took out the paper. She opened it. In large, bold lettering, it said
Rita Grumardi,
I will come. YOU'RE NEXT.
It had no signature of any kind.
But it appeared to be the same handwriting as the note on the picture.
Rita screamed.
