The untitled story~prologue & chapter 1

                                                              Prologue

  Has it ever been that time for you? When everything around you is so strange? Maybe even a raindrop looks slightly, awkward and all those everyday things around you are starting to seem like they're beginning to move on their own?

Well maybe you're not familiar with it, but i know that time. It's the time when you're halfway dead. You are able to transport to Jaha (the ghost world) and are also able to go back.

But those who don't listen,

they can't come back.

                                                               Chapter 1

 My name is Nessa, and i'm halfway dead.

I learned this only two days ago, when i turned fourteen. My mom came to my room at night and explained about Jaha, the ghostly world. She'd been there before, and told me never to go there when i was halfway dead.

Just because being halfway dead meant i could travel to both worlds in seconds, didn't mean it was good. Mom told me it just meant risk.

The risk i could get stuck in either place.

If i got stuck on earth, it wasn't as bad. It was sad though. I would watch everyone i loved around me perish, and i would be immortal, not able to age or travel the worlds.

But if i was stuck on Jaha, it was horrible. If you're not a full spirit on Jaha, The Highly Ones will find out you were traveling and didn't listen to the instructions someone gave you on how to return.

The eat you.

It happened to my friend Lusi. She was a full spirit and was traveling to earth. Unfortunatly, she didn't return on time. The Highly Ones on earth found her, and attacked her.

I was with her when it happened. She had her last calling (which can help you come back to your world but get severe punishment) and ignored it. Lusi was just having to much fun on earth.

But The Highly Ones found her. They stole her away from me and forced me to see her being eaten, slowly roasted with basil and lemon.

The last thing she said to me?

"Never travel."

And she was

gone.
