Vanilla Twilight-entry 1

It was a rainy evening, bathed in vanilla twilight. The rain came down in sheets, falling through the crevices of any shelter there. It fell around a young girl, about twelve. She wore a cream dress, her brown hair flowing across her face freely, lighting up when lightning hit. Her lips were a bloody red and were presses into an unreadable line. Her skin was pale, and if she every went out in the sun, it would do her no good. She held in her pale arms a bundle wrapped in a blanket. She held it close to her chest, away from the storm raging on around them. The girl stood there, her bare feet soaking up the mud. The trees around her lashed everything but her, as if a magic force was pulling them away. A shadow-like creature stepped from the darkness, he was cloaked in black and held only a slender stick, with a golden lions head, in his bony hand. He reached out with the other hand and the girl placed the bundle in his hand. She clung to her arms as if she was cold, but she was not wet, nor was the cloaked figure.

"Are you ready to give them, to the shadow?" said the figure. The girl's lips trembled, but she nodded. The figure unwrapped the bundle, and by luck his hood fell away, revealing complete emptiness. Whatever he was, he simply wasn't there. The bundle was a pair of babies, each with a locket that held them together. With one chain around one babies neck and the other around he other. One baby stirred. But the figure pressed its hand to its lips, and it quieted down. The woman took one baby, though not so the necklace would choke, and hugged it tight. The figure then took the chain and broke it. The two pieces would fit perfectly together. The mother then threw the baby out into the darkness. It fell to the ground and disappeared.

The next baby fell into a river nearby. You could sense the mother's horror as the baby sunk. She ran down to the river and dove in. She was never seen again. But it was different for the others.

Dear Diary,

This is my first entry of my new diary. It is purple with a blue ribbon. I seem to have had it all along. I am sitting in the living room and it is storming outside. I have a mother, and I am certain I have a twin, because my locket says Ida and Ilene. But my mother swears she has never heard of her, and that the locket was on me when she found me, washed upriver. She says that this diary was tucked under my arm. She can't figure out who Ilene is. I want to find Ilene. But, I don't know how! Mother says I can spend my time imagining her. So I think of us both. She had blond hair, I have red, we have the same violet eyes. She has a very pretty smile too. I want Mother to help me find her, but she says she does not want to lose me. Don't worry Mother, I can find her without getting lost.

Okay, this is not a diary. It is a journal. I have had it since birth. But I don't wanna talk about that. I wanna talk about my locket. But before I do that, I may as well say that I am Ilene, blond hair and violet eyes. Okay, back on track. I have had my locket since birth as well. Mom says that it seems to grow with me, I never take it off.  I fell through my dad's roof, and he decided to keep me! Isn't that strange! Dad said I had this diary tucked under my arm, and a locket around my neck. I like the sound of it. It is so almost like poetry. Well, anyway, I think I have a sister! One I've never met! Like a book character! Ever wonder if everything you do is controlled? Like by an author, but you really don't know it?  Sorry, I can get off track, or as my dad says, take off a wheel. The reason I think  I have a sister, is because, engraved in my locket is Ilene and Ida! Plus, it's only like, half of a locket! Maybe Ida has the locket that fits into mine, then we'll have a whole locket! If I only had had a twin! But nope, I'm squished in the middle of 9 children. I got four brothers, four sisters. It goes brother, sister, brother, sister. But I threw the whole system off when I cam along. I have an older sister, and a younger brother! If it wasn't for me and my dead mom! Our family would have been a pattern! Mom was younger then dad. When she died. It went boy, boy, girl, boy... you get the point.

Cool Ilene!

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye, then it's just a game. Find the eye.-Sergant McFluffers

I find it highly logical to speak in a manner akin to that of Mr.Spock.-JS
