Chapter 6
The Vampire Discussion
When Adam awoke the next morning, he felt he was at Florida. The sky was closer to the sun than the ground, and Adam was feeling a direct ray. Jewel had already got up. As they sat there, Adam suddenly remembered the subject of her being a vampire. “Jewel, tell me more about you being a vampire.” He muttered. Jewel’s face immediately frowned. “You don’t need to know that much.” She mumbled. “You told me already to wait for another time for this discussion. Now is it, Jewel. No running off.” Adam said. Jewel sighed. “You see, I did used to be a human. I was on the streets walking home from my school when I was attacked. I survived, and became a vampire. After that, I met my new mom and dad. However, my aging was delayed for many years because of other things. It took those over 5000 years for me to earn my venom, fangs, and what not. When I did, I had 9 years of life with my family. I never tried to eat a human, unless I had to. That was the case when I met you.” She mumbled. “When I met you, I felt a strong urge to attack you. However, I decided treating you a little worse would be better than that. But, I just couldn’t. Friendship. It was something I really never had. I was afraid that if I told you, you would explode with madness, and I’d have to…” She wandered off. Adam looked at her, dumbfounded. “I hardly care, but I need to know other things. What abilities do you have? I need to be aware of that.” He suggested. Jewel nodded, and continued, “The classical fangs are well-known. There is venom in them. Then, I have the one-of-a-kind skill of mind reading, although it exhausts me at my little age, and I don’t use it very much. Then, I have Venomshank. I also have some extra-fast running ability, which you have seen. The problem is, it’s not that easy for a young girl vampire to resist killing a human. However, I am able to control myself entirely.” Adam looked at her for one second, before he brought up a very strange new subject. “What’s for breakfast?” he asked. Jewel laughed. “We don’t eat that much. However, if you suggest it, you can eat vampires.” She said, trying to hide a guffaw. Adam frowned at her joke. “I need a chicken.” He mumbled, and then entered the hut, while Jewel stood there, laughing.
It took a full 18 minutes for Jewel to stop laughing. Adam was very aware of how long it was. “How did you not die of laughter?” he asked. Jewel told him that vampires didn’t need to breath. “We could be not breathing for 5 years. The longest for me was 11 months.” She said. Adam nodded. As he looked past her out the window, he saw an army fighting some more vampires. Adam stood in awe as vampires sucked the blood out of some of the army, and as some others ended up being totally alive, and shooting the same cannonballs he saw earlier at the vampires. Adam looked down at his shirt again. It was still blood-red, and was definitely in no good condition. He just shrugged at how stupid the shirt looked. He looked at Jewel’s. Her clothes were also basically red, although they had already been like that in the first place. Before he knew it, Adam asked Jewel if she knew how many vampires we had to attack. “I’m not sure, but I don’t think there is a little amount of vampires left. In fact, there will be way more than just a couple.” She announced. Adam stared out the window for a long time, before they finally decided to continue on to the second main fortress. Jewel left a teleport ring here, and gave Adam, one and one for her so we could easily teleport back here when we had to.
When Adam looked at the huge fort, it seemed strange how he felt this one was going to be a lot more difficult. When he entered the entrance, we were greeted by some more vampires, which turned out to be 500, and slashed them into bits. They seemed a lot harder to kill, for they were even faster and stronger than the previous ones. When they did finish them off, Adam found another weapon, 2 of it. It was a longsword, but was also very white. He grabbed it, and then disappeared. It turned out, the sword was the Ghostwalker, which turned you invisible entirely when you were using it. The sword itself would turn invisible, too. Adam nodded at Jewel, wherever she was, and smiled. They both entered the next door.
When they did so, they were greeted by a humongous wave of fire. They dodged it in time. It turned out it was another dragon, seeming to be much related to the other one. “WOW! He looks a lot like the old one.” Jewel mumbled. “WHAT!” the dragon yelled. He could talk! “My sister was killed by you fools! How dare you! I shall avenge her!” he yelled. I frowned. I was definitely having regrets about thinking this fort was easier than Dracula’s.
