Chapter 8
How to Hit Your Father
It took Adam a long time to even get used to walking around everywhere. He was too busy dodging cannonballs, jumping over vampires, slicing off body parts, and what not. He got very annoyed by this. He slowly started to get used to this routine: Dodge, Jump, Slice, Repeat. He was constantly annoyed by how long it took before they finally found their Mom and Dad. They turned out to be standing near each other, ready for battle. Adam looked at Jewel for a quick second, and then he ran off to my parents, while Jewel dashed over to hers. “MOM!” Adam yelled, throwing my arms around her. “I know what you’re thinking, Adam, now don’t even bother. I am not going to stop this war. Ever.” She mumbled, still carrying a pistol in her right hand. Adam tried my best to ignore what she said. “Mom, you need to seriously stop this war!” Adam yelled. “Both families will get hurt.” But once again, she shook her head. “I told you before Adam, they are way too dangerous. You should stay away from that girl. She could kill you any second.” I looked at her. “I am aware of that! I don’t know what’s got into your mind, Mom. I think you’re the foolish idiot here!” I yelled. I was even surprised by what I had said. She looked at me, mouth open. “Frank, deal with Adam.” She mumbled. She walked off and then I saw an amazing thing. My dad tried to slash me with a sword! I rolled over, not sure what was going on, and why my own father was trying to kill me. I drew my Ghostwalker, and, a couple feet away, Jewel did too. We disappeared into thin air. I slashed at Dad, careful not to hit him. He magically dodged each one without looking. He could not believe why his Dad had chosen to try and hurt him physically. Some parents accidentally hurt your feelings, but Adam’s parents were in a very strange case.
Adam jumped over the blade. He had decide a couple minutes later, to use Bloodstriker instead of Ghostwalker. He was tired, and not wanting to fight as much as he had to currently. He did not know why, but he felt as though there was no hope. He felt as though it was either Kill, or be Killed. This thought disturbed him. He tried not to let this bother him while dodging another slash. He was tired; the fight had gone on for 18 minutes already. Adam finally gave up and decided to do minor damage to him. He took the hilt, dodged an attack, and hit his dad right on the back. His dad fell over in pain, and Adam lowered his sword. “Dad,” Adam pleaded. “I don’t want to hurt you. Please, stop this war. Please?” I tried my best to hold back the tears. “You…think, you know..s..s..so much about this species. Dad, then ask yourself this: Why would I make friends with her then? Jewel, she…is a real friend. I don’t know why you think so, but I think Jewel is very special. Dad, you keep thinking of only Dracula. Yet, you don’t know expect ANY type of good vampire in the world because of so!” Adam yelled. He burst into tears. Adam’s dad lay flat on the ground. He looked up at him, his eyes seeming to sparkle and twinkle. The afternoon sun shone over Adam. He smiled. A faithful smile that he used to always give Adam. “Adam. You still don’t understand, do you?” he asked. Adam looked at him, not sure whether he should scream, stab him, run away, or just burst into tears, or even all. He decided to run away. He grabbed Jewel, and this time, Adam carried her off into the streets.
Jewel had been in a decent fight against her family too. They were complaining about how their family didn’t understand. And, you’d probably think that was true too. Adam stood there, fuming about his Dad and Mom’s stubbornness, when he decided that Jewel and he should teleport home. They did so, and decided to take an old classical nap. When he did wake up, Adam found out that it was lunch time. Jewel had made some roasted barbeque steak and noodle soup. He ate the lot quickly, loving all the food, when suddenly, Adam heard a scream. He rushed outside. There, in front of him was a banshee.
