What Did You Do To Me?

Ever since you left, left the pieces

Of the heart you broke

My mind went blank

As I sat down

To tell the world what you did

But I couldn’t

I thought when you left that

I was set free

And could now do the things I couldn’t

When I was with you

But I was wrong

You still have me wrapped tightly

Around your finger

Saying what I think of you now

In words, is harder than confessing

My love for someone else with you in the room

What if I hurt you?

I couldn’t stand to be on the same step

As you, I couldn’t stand

Dropping down to your level

I’m better than that

I’m better than you

And if you just tried

You could be better than you too
