Look, I'm sorry.  I'm really sorry.

But I must not tell lies.  (That is a quote from Harry Potter, a much, much, much greater book than this)

All right.  *takes deep breath and hopes fans won't kill her*

I hated trying to read this.

Look, I've read Lord of the Rings.  Eragon is just a cheap copy of LOTR and Star Wars, if you ask me.  Dragons are cool, I admit.  The egg was fun.  It was kind of nice, all that.

But I'm sorry, I cannot accept this.

LOTR: Mostly, the language.  The languages in LOTR have little bits taken out of them and used for Eragon.  The suffixes are very similar.  And, guess what?  You  have Eragon/Aragorn, for one thing.  And Gimli and Orik are the same people, basically, except Gimli is WAAAAY more awesome.  Also, the bad guys are basically the same.

Star Wars: Um, the same plot, maybe?  Pretty girl captured, boy gets clue to girl, runs to old man, old man teaches him about the ways of the dragonriders/jedi, then boy's the only one left basically except the bad guy?

I don't like people who copy other people's work.

I know you're all going to shoot at me and scream about how he was a child writer too and KidPub should think of him, but you know what?  KidPub writes a heckalot better than this dude, thank you very much.

Though the plots are quite a bit differant, I guess this is kind of true. Though Christopher Paolini (the author) Was actually just 15 when he published the first book. A kid like us. But good review!

I'm not sure I quite agree

I'm not sure I quite agree with you on your opinion, Esther, but you're probably right about how people could do better than him.

Never thought of it like

Never thought of it like that before... But it  makes sense. It's an old fantasy writing cliche.

First of all, you cant pin

First of all, you cant pin plageristic qualities between Eragon and Star Wars.  If you do that, I can easily pin plagerism on S.W.  The damsel in distress stuff has been around since Ancient Greek times: as for Lord of the Rings, I can easily say I never really got into it.  Its too slow.  I couldnt get past the Prancing Pony...  although, Harry Potter is amazing.  However, I cannot really see many simularities between the two.

Honestly, Eragon is one of my all-time favorite books/series.  I'm very sorry you dont see what I see.

Never thought of it that

Never thought of it that way.

Eragon is one of those books where you have to read very slowly through it, and while you comparisons may be legitimate, I daresay it's a lot deeper than Star Wars. Lord of the Rings, however, I cannot comment on given the fact that I got about 11 pages into The Hobit before being overwhelmed by the description.

...

Yes?

What?!

Stop it!!!

Haha, I'd say he's a good writer but he adds a tad bit to much detail if you know what I mean. To many descriptions so it all gets jumbled up in your head, but the plot is amazing!
