I give this movie a 2 because it is nothing like the book.If you havn't read the book you would of thought that it was fine.But I read the book...so I don't like it.The good things are that the actor that plays Percy looked just him (only he was suppose to be 12 not 16) and the special effects are decent. Below I have a list of things that were different from the book and the movie.I will be adding on to it when I think of some more things.ALERT!ALERT!IF YOU HAVN'T READ THE BOOK THERE ARE SOME SPOILERS IN HERE!AGAIN ALERT!
Book Movie
1.Percy is 12 in the first book Percy is 16 or 15 in the movie
2.Annabeth has gray eyes Annabeth has blue eyes
3.Claire(Ares's daughter) is in here Claire isn't in here
4.The god,Ares, is in the book Ares isn't in the book
5.The god of wine,Dionyous is in the book Dionyous isn't in the book
6.The God of Messengers,Hermes,is in the book Hermes isn't in the book
7.Chiron gives Percy the pen BEFORE he sees the fury He gives the pen to him after the fury attacks him
8.Grover isn't a lady's man in the book Grover is a lady's man
9.In the hotel in Vegas he just want to stay There is a food that makes him want to stay
10.The oracle of delphi is in the book The oracle of delphi isn't in the movie
11.The toilet scene is in the book The toilet scene isn't in the book
12.Kronos is the bad guy Hades is the bad guy
13.Annabeth nether kisses Percy only at the end Annabeth pretends to kiss Percy
14.Percy's mom gets rid of Gabe with Meduses head Percy's Mom gets rid of Gabe somehow(the movie doesn't say)
15.The Gods never speak in their kid's head. The Gods do speak in their kids head
16.Luke attacks percy at the end of the book Luke attacks Percy when he is going to return Zeus's weapon

18.They travel to Medusa's shop and the hotel they have to get the pearls from those places
19.There was no musem in the book there is a musem in the movie
20.They said Sally(percy's mom) liked blue food They didn't say Sally liked blue food
21.Grover is knocked out when Percy fights the minotaur Grover is couious in the book
22.Percy uses his shield to look at Medusa's reflection Percy uses his phone to look at Medusa
23.There is no scared lady in Medusa's shop There is a scared lady in Medusa's shop
24.There is Thaila's Tree in the movie There is no Thaila's tree in the movie
25.Annabeth's hair is suppose to be Blonde Annabeth's hair is brown
26.They find out Percy is Posiden's son later in the book They knew it from the start

28.(not trying to be racist)Grover is white. Grover is Black.
29.Percy uncaps the pen to activate the sword. Percy clicks the pen to activate the sword.
30.Annabeth has a invisable cap Annabeth doesn't have a cap

Wow. With all these differences (Some of which I wish were in the movie) you'd expect me--a person who just finished the book--to not watch the movie, but I still am. I kind of already guessed he was like 16 (Which I think is soo much better than 12). But, Dionyous??? Not in the movie??? No!!!!!! He has to be in the movie. He's funny, like he sometimes mistakes Percy's name and calls him Peter Johnson!! Lol. And Clairesse has to be in the movie, it only makes sense. And the pen AFTER he battles Ms. Dodds???? Makes no sense. Though that scene was funny. Lol. It's my favorite part of the small clip I saw online.
Mr Brunner (At the time he was called that): Take this to defend yourself. *Hands Percy a pen lol*
Percy: This is a pen.
Mr Brunner: It's a powerful weapon.
Percy: This is a PEN.
*Later in the movie*
Grover: CLICK IT!!!
Percy: *Clicks pen and it turns into a sword* Woah!!!
BTW, you might want to add that Percy had to uncap Riptide (The sword) for the sword to activate, not click it.

I've never read the books but I'm planning to. I think way differently about the movie. It is now my all time favorite movie. Best action movie I've ever seen. ( And I've seen lots of horrible ones )

PJ doesn't know he's Poisidons son until after the cpature the flag and what is up with his dorm? I didn't picture it like that at all O.o

I don't care if the director decides to get "Creative" or what ever. It's not the same, which makes a whole lot of people mad. They should just do it like page and page from the book. And have the author there to see if they like it or not. Oh and actually, Percy DOES indeed kill the minataur with it's horn. Not the sword. No museum? I thought at the begining....

I can't believe you noticed all these differences. I read all the books and I did not think of all these!
