An Adventure Worth Having

Dalilah was having a good time playing with her unicorn cards called angel cards. They were cards with unicorns and other magical creatures too. She picked up Pearl her favorite card. She was a gorgeous, white furred, silvered horned, bluish-eyed, silver-maned, unicorn. She put the card in a pocket of her orange and white striped hoodie and put the rest carefully in her jewelry box. She grabbed a chapter book to read when a purple, shiny, and circular thing popped on her wall. “Wow, that actually looks like the portal they use in Angel World. Could it really be?” she said to herself. She put her left foot in, in curiosity and got completely sucked in.

“Ugh oh my! Where am I? Help!” Dalilah screamed, opening her eyes to a winter wonderland. “I must be in Angel World!” she said loudly to herself. Then, barely through the mist of a blizzard, she saw a bluish gray figure. Dalilah crawled backwards toward a tall dead tree. She was frightened till it got close enough for her to tell what it was. “Oh, just an old ice dragon. You’re as harmless as a fly. At least your card says so.”

“Yep, you are not in a lovely world young girl.” the ice dragon replied sadly.

“Huh what is that supposed to mean? I’m in Angel World!” she said astonished.

“Not exactly. It was once called Angel World, but now it’s January

Land. Oh, how I hate that evil, dreadful, menacing goblin!” He said angrily. “She thinks she can over power the great Pearl and take over the land of rtr5r5yAngel!” he continued banging his head off a tree.

“So Pearl is the queen?” Dalilah broke in.

“Oh, of course. Then that evil goblin stole the berry of time and froze it, so the world stays in January. That is why Angel World is called January Land.” Replied the sad dragon. Oh, pardon me; I’m Opay, son of Diloxi, first dragon to walk the land of Angel World. My parents were dragons from another dimension.” Opay said politely.

“Oh, I’m Dalilah, daughter of Carrie and Shawn, my mom and father.” Dalilah replied, confused on the story she just heard.

“Nice to meet you, Dalilah. Pearl and the Land of Angel need you though, so please do stay and help us.” Opay said very seriously.

“Well, I suppose I could stay.” Dalilah replied to Opay, a little unsure. The 2 new friends poofed through the nearest portal and went to the royal stable owned by the great Pearl, that was 70 stories high. “I’m hungry.” Complained Dalilah.

“She probably has a few bags of horn kibble.” Opay replied.

“Um, what is horn kibble? In all my years of collecting Angel cards I have never heard of horn kibble!” she said back to him, frustrated.

“It is what helps her horn gain power, since she doesn’t have the magical berry. You have never heard of it because she just started eating it.” They walked in awe to the silver gate of the huge royal stable, and knocked on the door with the gold door bell shaped like a head of a horse. A griffin opened the door, and obiously recognizing Opay, let them both in. They walked at least 2 stories and eventually got to a golden door. The guard did a coded knock and a black stallion, at least 8 feet tall, let them in.

“Oh my gosh! You are Shambi, Pearl’s mate!” Dalilah screamed excitedly.

“You bet’cha honey.” He said deeply over the popping of the fireplace in the room. He ushered them in, his red cloak swinging. Then, in a purple robe, shiny mane and bluish silver eyes sat Pearl, in a lovely velvet chair.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! This day could NOT possibly get better! I am actually face to face with THE great Pearl!” Dalilah screamed again.

“SSSSHHHH my dear. You are here to help Angel Land and me. You will fight the evil goblin named Gastrula. She will be hard to fight, but by using your strength, brain, and magical card you can beat her.” Pearl said so beautifully.

“Um can’t YOU do it your um, majesty?” Dalilah said reluctantly.

“I’m losing my magic darling. Without the berry of time I am very useless.” Pearl said sadly. Samba went over to her and massaged her shoulders. “You’re not useless honey.” Samba deeply replied.

“Okay, okay I will do it for Pearl and Angel World!” Dalilah said and ran off to pack her bags with Okay.

Later the 2 were on their way with all but a map, clothes, a wolf pelt blanket, fruit, and the card Dalilah carried. The 2 grabbed their suitcases and headed to the nearest portal that led to Gastrula’s ice cave castle.

They got out of the portal and hid behind a tree up a hill about 10 yards away from the gate of her ice cave. “Here is the deal. There are at least a dozen guards. You will use your card that you have to um, kill them. You ready?” Okay said in a bossy tone. “Um, AAAHHHH!” Dalilah tried to reply, but 2 apes with devil wings that obviously listening to them came close making the scariest shrieking noises. “Those guys are donbys. Evil creatures who have amazing hearing, and annoying cries.” Dalilah yelled as they ran. “I have a card of one of them.” She turned around to the monkeys and took out her card hoping for the best. A burst of light shot out of the card and easily killed all the donbys in the area. They ran in and up to a room marked “THE QUEEN’S ROOM.” What came out was the creepy part. An evil, brown skinned, ugly baldish goblin with thick icky snot all over it. Dalilah prepared for battle. Then Opay said, " It won’t work!” Dalilah new he was right when the goblin yelled “HE IS RIGHT! PUT THE THING IN YOUR COAT! I WANT A SERIOUS BATTLE!” She then threw a punch and Dalilah dodged it causing Gasterlia to hit the wall. Opay then used his ice breathing power to freeze her arm to the wall. They did that a few more times until she was part of the wall. They then quickly grabbed the berry and went through the portal fast in case she had escaped.

Pearl cheered when she saw the golden berry. “Oh thank heavens you made it back, and with the berry!” She said then left, but shortly came back with 2 well decorated boxes with silver rapping paper cover them neatly. A gift for you both.” She said smiling at them. Opay opened his first. He got a medal of excellence and a job as Pearl’s new guard.

“Thank you SO much your honor. This is the best thing that has ever happened to me.” Opay said happily.

“It was nothing Opay. You helped Dalilah through a very hard battle for my berry. Thank you.” Pearl responded pleased with Opay. Now it was Dalilah’’s turn to open her gift. She took it and opened it fast.

“Cool um, a book?” Delilah said upset.

“Not just any book. A book with a portal that allows you to come to my world, and get back to yours .It is a true gift.”

‘“Oh, thank you SO much. This is the coolest gift ever. Well I better go. Good bye.” Dalilah opened the book waved and then poofed into the world she is from.

“Wow that was fun!” said Dalilah.

“Honey? You upstairs? Cool book honey! Let me see it.” Dalilah’s mom said. Dalilah wanted to say no but it was to late. She had opened it and poofed in the magical world she had been in. “She will have fun.” Said Dalilah, and went to reading her book.
