It’s time for the big race!

Strap on the bathing cap.

Adjust the goggles.

Concentrate.

Arms at my side,

Toes at the edge of the pool.

The whistle blows,

I dive into the water like a whale.

Arms extended,

Moving back and forth,

My head turns side to side.

Take a deep breathe.

I make a u-turn in the water,

I am almost there.

Speed up,

I tell myself.

My arms move faster,

My feet kick harder.

I reach up to touch the wall.

The big race is over.

I win!
