Getting Started with Kidpub
by Mrs. Mckelvey

Our class is full of bright, talented writers who are just dying to share their writing with you. This year we've worked on narratives, persuasive letters, how to pieces, responses to literature, and recently summaries of articles. We hope to publish our favorites here on kidpub.

We've been looking on the web for some time for a place to publish our writing. We'd love to hear from other students or teachers who are using kidpub.com. Is it is easy to use? Fun?

Thanks,

Mrs. McKelvey

Well, I'm home-schooled, and I find that KidPub has become an invaluable part of my learning.

Perry, the site manager, has done a magnificent job making this site better and user-friendly. I would suggest that you should definatly have your students publish some work here on Kidpub!

KidPub is an awesome website. It's very easy to use, and it's really fun in that you can get feedback on your writing and much more.

KidPub is awesome cubed.

KidPub is awesome cubed. Most of the members are kids who aren't here as part of a class, but instead joined because they love writing - like me - so you've got a whole bunch of passionate writers and readers at your fingertips here. We've got our own awesome little community going on - we're extremely fun/spaz/wacky/crazy/doofic/amazing - and KP is most definitely fun and easy to use, and totally worthwhile.

Look forward to seeing some pieces by your class :)

I think kidpub is what the

I think kidpub is what the internet was genuinely intended for. People are courteous and respectful, but at the same time give you criticism that you aren't afraid to get and they aren't afraid to give. It acts like a community--practically self-governing--if someone acts out of line, everyone will correct them.

I'm loyal to this place. To all of Mrs. Mckelvey's students--I look forward to reading you're stuff, and if you feel like you want to post at home it is definitely a worthwhile investment to get your own account.

What is KP?

Awesome in the form of a website.

I absolutely love it, and wouldn't have started writing without it (I've been on a year.)

We, being the population of Kid Pub, love commenting on others work. Whether it's actually constructive could be debated *CoughKangaCoughgag* But I've improved tremendously, and Perry is even using some of our work in a collabrative (sp?) book.

I think it's waaaaay better than some of the other stuff out there.

Bottom line? Easy to use. Fun to use. And fun to use. (Yes, it's doubly fun.)

I can't wait to see your class showing their work here.

Signed,

CJae

Hi, my name is Caleigh, but

Hi, my name is Caleigh, but my KidPub account Username is Adi. I've been on KP since December, and I'm grateful to have found such an amaizing website. All of the members here will help the students in your class become better authors. KP does not tolerate fights. There is a section called Author's Notes where members can just talk about random stuff. KP also does not tolerate religious fights or cussing. Your third grade students will have to be able to take critisicm on their work and not get upset about it. You students can also comment on other members' pieces.

You can create polls, check for comments on your work, and create Book Reviews. A Book Review is where you just write a review on a book or story that you like, and you think other people will enjoy.

After the first night of getting my account, it was easy to work and I knew how to post stories and comment and everything. KP is easy to use and fun for everyone. If you have any questions, just email Perry, he created the site, and he'll email you back soon! Just go to the About button, then go to Contact Us.

I hope to see your students as the future members of Kidpub. :)

Yes, I love it here on KidPub. The people here are friendly and nice(of course, I am too. :D) And we are all really random and funny. I think your students would have a great time here, we would gladly accept them in our "family".
