The Sea Of Competition

                                                                       By: Armand Derrick

Standing straight and tall on the diving board,

You and your opponent waiting patiently,

But at the same time eagerly waiting for the referee’s whistle.

The whistle blows!

The competitors dive in the icy blue water in a straight Stream Line position.

Arms pumping,ssssss

And feet propelling like a motor boat.

Take a deep breath,

Hoooooooooooooolllllllddddd iiiiiiiiittt,

And take another.

A flip under water and you launch off the wall….last lap.

Water gushing past,

Swishing through the water like a dolphin with grace,

And eyes on the prize.

Your heart racing,

Your lungs blazing!

 Finally, you reach the wall,

Out of breath,

Depleted of energy,

The crowd roars with cheers,

Victory in the air,

You have won!

The competition ends with a shake of hands and an applause for everyone.

The sea of competition,

A sport in your heart,

To be enjoyed.
