A Shadow in the Fog
By: Michael Kim
On a cloudy day in September, Michael and John were going on a hiking trip. It was dusk and windy outside. Tip, tap…tip, tap…It suddenly started to rain.
The boys started to look for shelter. Michael found a deserted house in the middle of the woods, and they quickly ran inside. They were all soaked. Drip, drop…drip, drop…It continued to rain.
But then something unusual started to happen. Weird noises could be heard. Creak…It was just the door. Squeak, squeak…It was just a mouse. But then, there was this awkward noise…Moan...Thump! They were scared to death.
There was shadow in the fog. There were rustling sounds coming from the windows. The footsteps were getting louder and louder, and they came closer and closer, until, they finally reached them.
“I’ve been trying to find you, son,” said a familiar voice. It was Mike’s dad.
