Where is black???

By Kimberly Lee

The black sky is the signal for everyone to go to sleep.

Black is the color of my shiny, straight hair under the sun.

People say darkness is the end of the day, but black, dark night is the bridge between today and tomorrow.

Black is the king of the colors, the final mixture of all.

Black is the lead in the mechanical pencil.

Black is the cat stealing fish in darkness.

Black is the black Sharpie in the pencil case that can’t be erased.

Black is my dad’s stinky, used socks after some exercise.

Black is the burned bread making my mom sad.

Black is the beauty of typed words in the fresh, morning newspaper.

From my hair to the sky, black takes over all the things.

Black is the proved ruler of all colors.
