I love this thread! Anybodies ever had peppermint bark? Its amazing but kind of hard to make. Great for around Christmas time
This is from ehow.com I DID NOT WRITE THIS!
1
Line a 11-by-17-inch baking sheet with foil.
2
Crush some candy canes. You'll need about 1/2 cup of crushed candy canes.
3
Melt a 12-ounce bag of bittersweet chocolate in a double boiler, stirring constantly.
4
Spread the melted bittersweet chocolate on the baking sheet and allow it to cool until set. This should take about an hour.
5
Melt a 12-ounce bag of white chocolate over a double boiler, stirring constantly.
6
Stir in 1/2 tsp. of peppermint extract when the white chocolate is melted.
7
Spread the white chocolate over the cooled bittersweet chocolate. Completely cover the bittersweet chocolate.
8
Sprinkle the crushed candy canes over the white chocolate. Do this before it sets.
9
Break the peppermint bark up into pieces after it sets

Lol when I attempted to make fudge, it turned into brownie soup. But it did taste good for our time crunch...

Wow...
When I was little, my Mom was boiling stuff to make HCPBC and I wanted to see what it looked like (I wasn't tall enough to see into the bowl), and I flipped the bowl and boiling sugar spilled all over my leg. I still have the scar.

Hey, I think I've made something like those! With corn syrup, peanut butter, and cornflakes and sugar? Those are so good! Like a little sticky?
I don't think that I successfully made merenguies last time I tried, but I made very good marshmallows! Yum!
Here is an awesome pie and a really awesome pie shell.
Pie shell:
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening or softened butter
2-3 tablespoons cold water
Combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening/butter. Add ice water one tablespoon at a time. Roll out. Makes one pie shell
Apple cream pie:
4 cups apples peeled, cored, and diced
1 cup sugar
1 cup half-and-half (or heavy cream)
2 tablespoons flour
Combine all and bake in unbaked pie shell for 40-60 minutes at 350 F. Remove from oven. Enjoy. Digest.

Yup! I LOVE them. Oh my gosh, I could LIVE off of those things. During Christmas, my Mom makes ALOT of Christmas candy. I mean, it fills up oour enire kitchen. We make Chocolate Logs, Cornflake Peanut Butter Cookies, Buck Eyes, Reindeer Pie, etc. etc. Want me to go see if I can find the recipes? And, are you a guy or a girl? Sorry, I was just wondering...

Oh, okay! I feel dumb.
Anyways, yeah, they are really good. So are the reindeer pies.
It's caramel, marshmallow fluff, and chocolate all mixed together. When I was little, I called it Reindeer Poop because it looks like a cow patty.
