Peering

When I grow up
I want something
Not many people know

Not to score
a touchdown
But to dance
in a show

I know it may seem friviouls
I know it may seem weird
But when I went to my first thetear
Behind the curtain I peered

There were many ladies dancing
They had costumes here and there
With flowing gowns and diamond crowns
And flowers in their hair

Some were streaching
With beauty and with grace
Some with endless satin
Some with shortened lace

One dancer saw me peering
She came to greet me nice
She said that I could watch her
If I could pay the price

I stared in horror
At the lady standing here
How could somone ask me to pay
Just so I could peer

And she said dance and she said dance
The price I had to pay
And she said twirl and she said twirl
And said Id payed and I could stay

But instead of stopping
The magic took me over
As the young ladies dances on stage
I stood planted like a clover

And I danced and I danced
To the music playing on
And I twirled and I Twirled
to the lovley ballet song
.

Love

Did you ever find that someone that
you thought you just couldn’t live with out?
Did you ever feel the flame linger even when
The candle’s light went out?
Have you ever heard a bird sing and
Actually listened to the tune?
Have you ever looked up at the sky?
And felt like you could reach the moon?
Can you look back and remember singing in the rain
Even though you argued and your heart was filled with pain
(At the same time)
You wondered what you did
or what you even said
Your heart ceased to beat
Your heart dropped to your feet
Did you ever feel the tender kiss of one you loved dear?
When you needed them most they were always near
(Even if they were far away)
(Because you felt them in your heart)
Did you ever taste the bittersweet flavor of love?
And worship Heaven for sending your angel from above?
(I did)
(My heart broke)
Until I found that someone new
And one day you will too
So cry if you must but remember
Lovers come and go
But friends are there to stay!
.

In My Heart

Deep down in my heart
Deep down in the depths of these wild
Whirling, spinning, confusing
Emotions
I listen to my inner voice
I try to
Anyway
But the emotions are taking
Control sending me into a
Long winding path
Of Confusion
Hurts
Burns
Stings
The Pain wraps me in its strong grip
Tears fall like raindrops
Fast and furious
Down my face
Drowning my happiness
Drowning every thing that I thought I had
I thought that he loved me
He said that he did
Words.

The Gift of Life

Life is taken for granted
A simple sunset,
A storm of colors blended together
Pink, purple, red, orange
An angel’s view on life that we can see every day
But what if we weren’t given that chance?
It is a special thing
To be able to
See the sunsets and the wonders of nature
To hear the musicians songs
To hear rain drumming on the windowpane
You never know when you might not hear
The voice of a loved one spoken again
It is a gift
To be able to smell
Warm, fresh chocolate chip cookies
Or the smell of a new born baby
God has given us these gifts
And everyday is like Christmas
But we choose to ignore it
Because we think it will always be there
It is a treasure
To be able to taste a snowflake
That melts on your tongue
To taste the sweetness of that same
Chocolate chip cookie
Does God know what it’s like to taste a chocolate chip cookie?
All the things that God has given us we have
Used and abused
I see life in a different way now
To be able to feel someone’s hug or kiss
To be able to hold a baby in your arms
And know that you brought it into the world
Maybe that he or she will see the gifts
Of Life for what they really are
Temporary gifts that God has given or loaned to us
So that we may see what the real meaning of life is
Life is taken for granted
A storm, a performance of nature’s ability,
God tests our strength with some of these
Gifts
An earthquake, a hurricane, a famine, a war
Not exactly gifts in my book
But some things He gives us are presents in disguise
And the more I look
The more I begin to see
The world may not be perfect
But God is and He gave us this world to make,
To shape
From generation to generation
And I have to wonder
Where will be in five, ten or even thirty years if everyone
Takes life for granted?

An escape

The sun bakes me to a crisp
I work in the cotton fields all the day
I need to escape, to be free from slavery
I dont see another way

So tonight I'll go
Run into the night
Of course I'll scared
trembling with fear and with fright

But this I need
To do for me
The others can stay
I cant cant you see?

So tonight I'll leave
through the brook and the woods
with only my rags some food
But no goods

The hounds may chase me
I may get caught
But my courage and faith
Will acomplish alot

And I know I will make it
With the help of the quakers
They will send out a message
To the others, called tracers

Then I will eat and sleep
In a comfortable bed
With people to watch me
So I can rest my head

I will ride in buggys
and dress the a queen
I heared word of a man who gives shoes
They say he's not mean

I will ride on a train
They will call me cotton
The slavery and pain
Will not be forgotten

But soon as I cross the
Mason Dixon Line
I will be free
Slavery will be in another time

But I vow to the lord
That i will set free
The other slaves
The ones who loved me

And even those
Who I did not know
I will help
My kindness will show

And to those quakers
Who helped me along
When they pass
Will go to God to sing his song

And I am free
A feeling of justice
One they white will see
They will have to trust us.

Golden Girl

With eyes as blue as waterfalls
And skin as soft as snow
The Golden Girl I talk about
Is something most people know

Her lips are pink as sunsets
Her figure slender light
A happy additude though solem
A attitude just right

Her amber curls like falling leaves
Her cheeks as red as too
A girl like this existes for real
This tale I tell is true

She glides not walks
And laughes not giggles
But still the same she shakes
Not wiggles

This Golden girls not me
nor mother
Nor sister dad or
even brother

Nor figure of my imagination
She is part of yours.

A story for M.

Once when I was on the internet I got an e-mai lform this really cool girl.

My little tiny dollie

It seems to me I'm never
Talked to about anything

My brother can race soap box cars
My sister can sing

My mom is a laywer
My dad is a doc

Even my old Uncle Freddy
Can pick any lock

But me little Annie
Cannot do those things

I cannot race a racdecar
Pick a lock or even sing

God knows I'm not a laywer
No way I'd be a doc

Which is why when I made things
It sure is a shock

One day I made a dollie
Named her Aire well of course

My older brother Jonny
Said that it looked like a horse.

The Color Blue

Blue is the color of the sky
The hot sun blazing in the bright sunlight

Blue is the color sea
A comforting cool feeling saved for u and me

Blue is the color of the ripe blueberries
Clinging to the vine in a pair alike

Blue is the color of the babbling brook
A reed a rock all apart of its way

Blue is the color in a rainbow of many
Arching into the light of within

Blue is the color of the face of ur sibling
After u punch ur sis in the shin.

The Secret Clubhouse: Part 2

"But mom!" I cried "I'm not sick!".

A Winter Sonnet

The snow cascades from the heavens
In patterns not seeable to the eye

But to the minds eye there is a perfect image
Of that one little snowflake

Fluttering to the ground
as if each one was released individaually

By the hand of God
Or perhaps one of his angels

The sun shines through the darkness
As the night falls and the morning awakes

As it does so do I
And I am awed by the wonders of the snow

It covers the land like warm blanket
the grass snuggles underneath, hiding from the cold of winter

i too snuggle beneath the covers of my blankets
that mother set out for me last night

I giggle with glee as I think of everything to do
Sledding, on the hillside, my favorite thing on a winter day as such

I trample the hallway as I run
Leaping into the family room watching the snow from the door

In my nightdress I shiver
A thought comes through the bleak morning sunlight

I too shall greet the sun as the snow does
In my nightgown and slippers I shall greet the sun

Opening the heavy door I slip outside
I stand in my driveway looking out onto the street

I look up and spread my arms
I twirl and twirl faster and faster I go

Until finnally I stop
I sit on the step and watch to the snow

A perfect picture painted by God
Painted by the angels, painted by winter

GOD BLESS AMERICA:Song

The fireworks spurt flames into the sky
The family picnics and old reunions just want to make me cry
A family reunion of people you trust
What a great just and all I have to say.

Peace

What does peace mean to me? It means a hanshake between two,
A loving caring friedship with things that normal children do

What does love mean to me? It means a hug thats always there
A family, a friendship, that has no empty snare

What does war mean to me? It means a fight that shouldn't be
Fighting helps nothing, its just kills, cant you see

What does hate mean to me? Well its not even a word
You cant dislike someone so much that you would disobey the Lord

What does sense mean to me? It something soem people use
When they relize that fighting doesn't help and they come to a truce

What does life mean to me? A short perioda alive
So why fight when you could be friends, this is for what I strive.
