in Georgia
September 14th, 2002
Firefighters, policemen, soldiers, and people fighting for the right to be free
Sometimes this world seems too much for me
I saw the smoke that September day
I could not understand
How much of an impact
It made on our land
Like World Wars and Pearl Harbor, you will soon forget
Why, on this day, that people got upset
You will forget the tears
You will forget the anger
You will forget the fears
You will go back to your normal life
But I will remember
Those buildings falling, the people dying
The airplanes crashing, people crying
I will remember every day until death takes me away
And I will be proud to stand up and say
That I'm an American
And I live because I'm free
And no one can take that away from me
