The next office was the same as the last and the man behind the desk was almost the same except he wore a plain, blue tie. He gave jordan a new form with more stupid questions. Jordan hurried through the questions and turned it in to the man. He put the information into the computer slowly and painfully. When he finally finished he pulled put a a helmet. It was very strange, with lots of wires and gadgets stuck to it.
"What's that for?" JOrdan asked timidly.
"It's to help you. You need to be like evryone else so we can all be happy." the man stated simply. A frightning thought ran through Jordan's mind. She realized what they were trying to do. They were going to brain-wash her to make her boring and grey and lifeless. She didn't know why they wanted to do that but when the man go up to go strap the helmet onto Jordan's head she just ran. She ran out of the office and into the hall. She tried to remember which direction she had come. She turned corners aimlessly, knowing th men in the black suites were following. She kept running and finally she came to a window. A single window at the end of one long corridor. She ran up to it, she was afraid to smash it with her hands but, she was more afraid of what the helmet would do to her. Jordan gathered all the strength she had and punched through the pane of glass. Luckily for her there were no bars of frames. she was trying to clear the glass so she could climb out when she heard people approaching. She turned to see a group of 5 men running down the long passage. Jordan quickly hoisted herself onto the ledge of the window, getting many cuts in the process. She looked down to see what was below, all there was was gravel and a sign that read in black letters you are leaving the city. Jordan lept out of the window and fell on her hands and knees, onto the gravel. Jordan looked back up at the window to see the men getting ready to jump out the window, too. Jordan quickly got to her feet and ran for it. She ran past the sign and kept running until she noticed the men didn't seem to be able to pass the sign. They got to it then stopped and then just turned around. Jordan came to the conclusion that the helmet must have told them they couldn't pass the city boundaries.
