Alene Morris glanced at herself in the mirror. Mousy dishwater blond hair, brown eyes, and lots of freckles. Alene felt so ugly she didn't know what to do with herself. It was easy when she was homeschooled, back in Wisconsin. But now that her father had been hired gfor some new computer company in Los Angelos, Alene felt terrible. She had taken enough time making friends in Wisconsin, which is especially hard when you're homeschooled. But she had managed. How would she ever make friends in Los Angelos?
