"Hey Luce!" I called, waving my arms"Are you gonna be able to make it to my brithday on Saturday?". I pushed past the crowd and leaned against the wall next to my best friend Lucy Marold. She was putting her last period books away and pulling her slicker out of her locker. "Yeah. I've got some stuff to do with my sister that morning but it's not gonna be until 7 right?" She slammed her locker shut and slung her backpack over her shoulder. "Yeah" I replied "Plus I'm gonna have to run out with Megan to get some junk food". We began walking side by side down the crowded halls. "Hey Mag, I've got to slip into the library for awhile, you know the big exam on tuesday. Can I catch up with you later?" "Sure" I replied waving "But dont forget about my party. Not alot of people are coming so you have to be there!" "I wont forget!" she said smiling.

When I finally got home that afternoon I imedeitly smelled my mom cooking something great in the kitchen. I ducked low to get into the door way and the familar creek of the floor boards welcomed me home. "Hey mom!" I said stepping into the kitchen "What's cookin'?" My mom set down her spoon and tasted her sauce. "I'm trying to copy a recipe out of a cookbook but it's just not working". She replied wiping off her hands with a dishtowel. "Here let me taste" I offered dipping the spoon into the pot. I tasted it and thought for a minute. "I've got and idea". I picked up the cheese grater and some cheese from the table. A little went into the pot and then I mixed it up. "Here now taste it". I handed the spoon to my mom. "Wow Mags. This is great! Just what I needed". She took my backpack off of the chair. "Your backpack's pretty light". She commented. "That's becuase it's Friday". My mom gasped as she ran into her room. "Oh great" I heard her mutter as she picked up the clock. "Honey could you get me the phone?" she called. I picked up the phone and handed it to her. "What's wrong?" I asked.

I've got to go! If you liked it I'll write more later.
