in California
In the Fourteen hundreds there were Indians with brown skin and black hair. Then, in the Seventeen hundreds, there were Europeans with white skins and yellow hair. In the late Seventeen hundreds, African Americans came with black skin and black hair. After that, around the Eighteen hundreds, there were Asians with yellow skins and black hair. Do you think you can judge people as a Real American or not just by the color? No, I don’t think so. You have to judge them by something inside their hearts. In my opinion, a Real American should include five “C” qualities. They are Compassion, Courage, Creativity, Curiosity, and Concentration.
Compassion means care and kindness. A Real American will give care and kindness to people he knows, such as his family members, classmates, and teachers. He will also give care to people he doesn’t know, for example, people in Middle East, and people in Afghanistan.
A Real American also has to have courage. He cannot just be afraid of everything. The pilgrims had lots of courage to risk their lives just to go to America, and today, I think that their descendents should be braver than their ancestors.
In the past, Thomas Edison invented Morse code and light bulb, and then later, Americans invented Television and Computer. Now I believe that Americans should increase their creativity and invent more things in the future.
American people are always very curious and I think that they are very curious about our solar system and the universe. Americans first did Project Mercury, then Project Gemini, and finally, project Apollo. When Apollo 13 blasted off in 1969, three astronauts went to the Moon. And now Americans are sending spaceships to explore Mars.
Everything you achieve starts with hard work, and you have to concentrate on what you’re doing when you work hard. I feel that every Real American should concentrate and try to achieve their goals.
Last, I want to summarize what I said. I think you have to judge whether a person is a Real American or not by something inside his heart, not by his color. A Real American should have five “C” qualities. They are Compassion, Courage, Creativity, Curiosity, and Concentration. I am working hard to be a Real American. How about you?
