The Best Soccer Game Ever

On September 28, 2002, I played my best soccer game ever. I liked the game because I scored the greatest goal I ever scored. Our team was missing one of the best players because he broke his bad bone. We thought we would lose. However, we won the game.

Our team was a big goner when they had very good scoring chances. The defense kept us tied 0-0 until halftime. We had lots of scoring chances in the second half. For example, we got the most dangerous thing for the opponent’s team, a deadly penalty kick. A teammate, Barron, took the penalty kick. He shot the ball nice and hard to make it slightly squeeze over the goalie. That was how we scored our first goal. Now we were leading 1-0. Everybody went crazy.

The opponents kicked off. It was easy to steal the ball after it was kicked right to us. Another teammate, Joey, shot hard to the goalie. The goalie tried to get the ball, but dropped it right out of the goalies hands. Defenses on the opponent’s team ran to the ball and kicked it right to me. I quickly touched the ball and it went toward the goal. Their defense jumped, but the ball was on the ground, so it went under him and scored. We cheered again and the referee ended the game.

We won 2-0. I could not believe that we won without our best player. I will always remember the best game I ever played.
