Prolouge: A Little peice of Couri-GHanyan HIstory

LONG ago, when the world was young, a horrible storm caused the people of earth to flee underground. There they found Opal City, left by natural causes. In the Ancient Language, Opal was called Couri and people were called Ghanyans (plural) or Ghan (Singular) Thus, they became the Couri-Ghanyans. They appointed leaders every ten years, so that no one became crazy for power.
One day in the almost paradise of Opal City, three Couri-Ghanyans adventured through the straight hallway to the surface. With little effort the wooden doors gave in. The three saw for the first time trees, flowers, and all we take for granted today. THey raced down the tunnel and cried, "atarya! atarya!" or, in our language, "come look! come look!" Then, the city's population dropped drastically, leaving only those who refused to part from it.
Today, no one remembers the Couri-Ghanyans, or where we might be at this moment had it not been for the three adventurers. Of course those who left never forgot their friends, but the memory of the glittering Opal City was lost.
There are still traces of the Couri-Ghanyans today. MAny caves people go to have once been the homes for Couri-Ghanyans who left to the surface and found their own little caves. As you can guess we now call them cave men. By then, for it had been a while, then did they remember they had left what might have been the greatest discovery on earth.
Those who came to the surface were forgotten by the Couri- Ghanyans. The leader commanded that tons of opal be piled in front of the entrance so no one could leve again. And no one could ever come back by that route.
Eventually the Couri-Ghanyans died off.The Coopalmeks, as they called those who went to the surface, never gave up trying to find their old home. In the present day, spelunkers explore caves in search of... what? They don't know. It is probably the blood of their ancestors trying to find Opal City.
This tale is not about some ridiculous search to find Opal City; it is not the tale of a foolish quest. It is the tale of Opal City's Rise and fall, With these words, let the stroy go on and fascinate those with a knack for fantasy, and those who are bored of the classic go on a quest stories.
