This is first story plot sent to me by another kid, and first in my "Fantasy Inspired by Kids"
series.
I only changed his oringinal plot by adding another wizard to the story. Now, on with the tale!
Uriel gripped his rune encrusted sword and ornate oaken staff tighter, readying himself for the
flaming demon's next attack. The hulking beast, who towered at ten foot higher than Uriel, charged
at him with a primal roar and a sword of fire held high in both hands. The young mage tried to
recite a spell of shielding but the beast's huge infernous blade came too
quickly. He rolled across the grass to his left just as the flaming sword cut a fissure in the earth
twenty foot deep where he had stood just seconds before. By this time he had finished his spell,
and plates of hard, but light, rock summoned from the bowels of the earth by the spell to armor
him.He watched in anticipation as the demon forged another sword of fire in its other hand. Uriel
prepared for a strike of unity from the two blades the beast now carried. Instead it reared its ugly
head and bellowed forth a maelstom of fire that no one could escape; unless of course that someone
was wearing armor made from rock near the planet's core. Uriel covered his face with his arms, for
it was the only exposed part of him, as the firestorm overcame him. After it finished the demon
howled with terrible rage. As the demon raised his swords, Uriel focused on an old spell of
summoning that could bring warriors of ancient times from their graves in full form. He finished
moments before the twin blades came down. Eight archers clad in shining mail and helms and bearing
longbows appeared in front of Uriel with shafts already on bowstrings. Uriel commanded them through
telepathy to fire at the demon's head. The keen-headed arrows flew past the fire swords as they came
down. The demon howled in pain as the shafts struck it in the face, for the arrows were made of the
holy metal of Thorium, first discovered in a meteor that hit the earth centuries before, and felt as
the face of the sun had hit the demon in the face. It continued howling as Uriel summoned more
archers until the beast was surrounded in a ring of marksmen. It cast away one of its blades formed
a shield of molten rock and began to fight back with its other sword. It laughed with unholy joy as
it cut down the confused archers as their arrows melted in the apparition's shield. Uriel, beginning
to worry now, answered summoning a flock of Caraks, birds from the far away land of Vakahd*. Now a
plan was forming in his mind, and the worry had left him for the most part. The great desert birds
swooped down near the remaining archers, who gladly mounted them. The Caraks then flew high above
Uriel and his adversary, higher even than the reach of the demon's great sword. The flying bowmen
then fired shaft after shaft into the beast from their new mounts. The demon was now growing angry
with the situation, what with all these painful arrows striking it all over. Wings of pure black
rock and blue flame sprouted from the demons hunched back, and it began an arial chase. Uriel smiled
inwardly as his simple plan finished itself. The demon was now focusing on the flying archers and
neglecting the young mage. Uriel thought that he should add more birds and archers just to add to
the beast's already burning rage. These distractions would give him time for an extremely powerful
spell, if could speak its words quickly enough."Beautiful and deceitful ocean, grant help me this
day, spare a wave of water and I shall show the way..." After nearly ten more minutes of chanting
only one Carak and bowman lay between the demon and the weak manling. After cutting the Carak from
one of its wings and sending rider and mount to their deaths, the beast dropped back through the
clouds(where the chase had led him) to kill the mage. It landed eight feet behind Uriel who was
still sitting on the ground meditating on his spell. The demon cackled cruelly as it raised its
sword high above its hideous, tusked head. Suddenly, Uriel spun faster than sight could follow to
face the demon and spoke defiantly,"I am Earth Mage Uriel Stoneblade, son of Arath, former
apprentice of Evarn Cast. In life, fire may cause the earth a great amount of deep pain, but in the
end the soil and rock will prevail over the oppresive flame, as have I have prevailed over you this
day!" And with that he cast away his sword and plunged his staff deep into the ground. The demon
watched confusedly, fire-sword still raised, as a small trickle of water bubbled up from under the
staff. That trickle soon grew to geiser of arctic sea water. The demon howled through the steam that
rose from its rock-hard skin as the water slowly extiguised the flame of which it was made. It made
one last desperate swing at the mage with its sword, but Uriel countered with his staff, which
shattered the weapon in a burst of light. And thus, Uriel left the dying demon and continued his
journey to Atharas, the City of Light, and the Council of Mages
