THE ADVENTURE AT SWAMPYWILLOW LAKE part 3
Once again, John didn't answer. Instead, he turned and began to walk words his old 'haunted' house. Amy frowned. "Sir?" she asked. Still, John said nothing. Amy threw him a frustrated look, and turning, she began to run after Bill. John looked over his sholder and saw Amy running.

"Amy!" he shouted. "Come back! You'll never catch him, he's to far ahead!"
Amy stopped and walked back to the platform. "We have to get him, sir. We can't just leave him like that," said Amy in a worried tone. The old man nodded.

"I agree. We are going to go after him, but we can't do it on foot. We'll take my automobile." Amy smiled. Mr. Winston led the way behind his old house where an extremely sad-looking car was leaning against the house, as if for support.

Amy got into the car and waited while John went into the house to tell his wife where he was going. In a moment he came out accompanied by an elderly woman. She was very plump, and had twinkling eyes almost hidden by wrinkles. She got in the front seat and, without turning around, she introduced herself to Amy. " I am Peradosientha Thindeselle Winston. You, Amy, may call me Peradosientha. I DON'T want you to give me any foolish nick-names, such as Peri, or Sientha, or Tussy, (Amy had no idea who had come up with THAT name) or any thing else. Now, John, you may start the car. To an onlooker, Peradosientha may have seemed like a disagreeable old lady,--and it is true that Amy never dared to call her Tussy-- but really she was a very kind hearted old woman. It was just that she was very particular about her name.

John had started up the car on Peradosientha's command, and the car gave a few tired groans, and they were off! As they drove nearer to the woods, Amy got that funny feeling again. " It's almost like I'm excited and scared at the same time," she thought. The trees enveloped them as they entered the forest.

" They're in a bad mood," commented John.

" What?!?, " said Amy." Who?"

" The trees," said John. " Something or someone has upset them."
