Mrs. Thomas is a woman who lives down the street. She has six children. I've talked to Celia. She's about my age. Celia said that they used to live in a cabin built over- looking a huge lake, with dunes of warm sand. But now they live in the city, with smoke and loud noises.
Celia says that when she grows up, she's going to fix the cabin up,and move back. She's going to write a big fat book, and sell it, to make enough money for every one to be taken care of. I hope she does.
The Thomas' have a hard life. There isn't any Mr. Thomas,he died. Mrs. Thomas makes just enough money to buy food and clothes.
I remember last Christmas when my family gave them a big dinner, with the turkey and everything. I'm telling you,you should have seen their faces light up, thanking us a million times. It would have made you feel good.
I admire Mrs.Thomas. She has a lot to be mean about, but she isn't mean. She has a special light in her eyes, even in the hard times. She's almost always smiling.
When I grow up,I want to be a person like her, smiling even in the hard times.
